(@jeancaranda)

Imagine transforming a parking space into a temporary park. Now imagine making it a reality. This is what we experienced at Santa Ana Parking Day, where community involvement, the will to create Strong Towns, the initiative of its residents, creativity, limited resources, and a huge impact—this is what happens when you imagine cities for people. The next step is continuity. Want to turn a temporary space into a park? Call us! #parklet #placemaking #santanacalifornia🍊📍 #strongtowns

This is how we lived PARK(ing) Day Santa Ana 2025! 🚧🌿 Together with Strong Towns Santa Ana, we transformed two parking spots into a vibrant public space —a place to create, exchange ideas, and reimagine what our streets could be. It was a day filled with workshops, games, stencils, urban mosaic, and activities for all ages. A reminder that cities truly come alive when people gather, participate, and reshape them with creativity. ✨ Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared ideas, took part in the activities, and imagined a more human-centered, playful, and people-first Downtown Santa Ana. We’ll keep activating streets and building better cities through community participation. See you at the next PARK(ing) Day! 🌱

Inspired by @parkingday, we developed the first temporary parklet intervention in Santa Ana. In collaboration with @strongtowns_santaana @_urbanstrat @ortopedia_urbana we rediscovered and reconnected with the community needs. This is the first step toward rebuilding a better city, reimagining it! If you know of a place where we can develop a similar project with the community, get in touch!

Transforming streets into vibrant community hubs! 🌿✨ At the International Parklet Symposium, we dove deep into how parklets can do more than offer outdoor seating—they can be inclusive spaces for play, learning, and cultural connection. Our “Pedagogical Parklets for Infants and Toddlers” workshop showed how designing with kids creates safe, engaging environments that invite everyone to participate. We also tackled the challenges of balancing business needs with community stewardship, emphasizing modular, adaptable solutions that evolve with the city. Together, we’re building parklets that belong to everyone—where neighbors, businesses, and artists come together to create lively, welcoming streetscapes. Congratulations to @museospaziopubblico, @studiooneeleven, @spur_urbanist, @centerarchdesignsf @_shrutishankar and @parkingday for organizing this amazing experience. Let’s keep building more human cities! 🌎 Ready to bring this vision to your neighborhood? Let’s chat! DM us to explore ideas and partnerships.
