🔵 How do you design connection? 🔵 How do you give collectivity a body? 🔵 What happens when a garment becomes an active participant in an encounter?

The Wearable Works are part of an ongoing inquiry into these questions.

They grow through encounters, collaborations and new contexts.

Like this time: a newspaper. Thank you @jedithja and @hetparool for connecting the dots. ⚪️🔵⚪️⚪️⚪️⚪️⚪️⚪️

Designers, fashion houses, brands, makers and educational institutions curious about these questions are warmly invited to think, make or play along.

Today in Het Parool: Beeldrijm featuring work by Sam Werkhoven.
In this new series, Werkhoven focuses on flowers encountered and documented during spring and early summer. By isolating the stem and flower from their natural surroundings, the paintings emphasise the interaction of form and colour.

Due to his colour blindness, Werkhoven experiences colour differently, making the interplay of light and shadow a central element in his work. The flowers function not only as motifs, but also as a way to reflect on the nature of colour, perception, and the relationship between looking and making.

With thanks to Jedithja de Groot.

2025 - the year culture sniffers came to life!

what started as an idea to create something I felt was missing in amsterdam (community for art people) finally made its way into the world, and oh how wonderful it’s been!

we held 5 events this year, including a tour of @nap.plus, @fannyfreytag_’s fall exhibition, and @maartje_stapel’s studio. we started our @substack, and travelled to art shows and fairs in Berlin, Paris, and Antwerp.

to more of everything in 2026 - art, community, and everything in between 🌟
