Allow us to reintroduce ourselves. 👋🏼 We are a community over 20,000 strong. Most of us run but many of us enjoy other forms of fitness. Most of us struggle with weight but many of us have other struggles. Most of us could use some motivation but all of us come together to support one another. To make a long story short – In 2012 twelve runners, who had a combined weight loss of over 1200 lbs, formed a @ragnarrelay team named From Fat to Finish Line. One of those runners @jenroeruns was also a documentary producer and decided to film the team. In January 2013 the @todayshow followed team FFTFL as they completed that race. A facebook page was created and people from all around the world began sending messages with running questions. Team captain @rikakey wanted a place where he could help newer runners so he created a facebook group and that year got certified as a RRCA Running Coach. The group grew from a few hundred to a few thousand quickly. In 2015 200 members of the FB community met for the first time in Las Vegas, screened the From Fat to Finish Line documentary, and ran the @runrocknroll races. In 2016 the film premiered on Netflix and we are now streaming on @amazonprimevideo. While FFTFL started with just 12 runners, we are so much more than a movie and so much more than those original 12 runners. We’ve forged unbreakable friendships and even a couple romances. Our tribe motto lives on - Friends - Fitness - Finish Lines Recognizing a continuing complaint that many of the available 5K programs were too difficult, Coach Rik Akey created our signature “Run Your 1st Mile” program. The basic program is free (see link in bio) or for a small fee you can invest in our VIP program. The VIP program includes the Anatomy of Running Form, Advice for Beginning Runners, and Life Coach Jennifer Roe’s mental training plan because we know there is much more to running than just running. We know that sometimes it takes a tribe to raise a runner. #reintroduction #FFTFL
