$Ever since I resumed creating music posts after a long hiatus, my main goal is to highlight past artists that not too many people may be aware of. Musical acts that to some may be labeled as obscure but surely well worth checking out. In addition, overlooked artists that might have not been given a fair chance due to the politics of the music industry. A group that I feel best exemplifies what I'm talking about is the early 2000's R&B quartet group, Co-Ed. Co-Ed was a mixed gender R&B group that is based in Atlanta, Georgia. The group consisted of members Jeff Bowden, Bianca Spear, Jeff Coleman, and Nikki Gresham. In 2000, they released their debut single, "Roll Wit Me", the single peaked at number 64 on Billboard’s Hot R&B\Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, staying on the chart for 19 weeks. The following year in 2001, Co-Ed would go on to release their debut (and only) studio album entitled "Utopia" under Universal Records. The album would peak at number 75 on Billboard's R&B albums. The follow-up singles from the album, "Sumthin' On U" and "Been Around" were released, but unfortunately did not chart the Billboard charts at all. In my honest opinion, "Utopia" is a well crafted and cohesive album. Some may claim the songs found on this record were a product of its time, I can assure you, this is an overlooked album. The members vocals blend and compliment each other, you will definitely notice that throughout the album. If you have the chance, go out and listen to this album, you will not regret it. Much love and respect to the members of Co-Ed 🔥💎✨🙌🏾 #NowPlaying 🎶🎥: Co-Ed - "1st Time" (#2001) #CoEd #1stTime #Utopia #UniversalRecords #00s #00sEra #00sMusic #00sRnB #2000s #2000sEra #2000sMusic #2000sRnB #Music #RnB #Soul #Thehuffsays #Throwback$
