What happens when art, neuroscience, and education come together to support youth healing and expression?

As part of Design Philadelphia, join us October 8, 6–8 p.m. at the Jefferson Honickman Center (1101 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia) for A NeuroArts Approach to Youth Healing and Expression, an opening reception celebrating a collaboration between artist King Saladeen (@kingsaladeen) The Grayson School (@grayson_school), and Thomas Jefferson University College of Nursing (@jeffcollegenursing) and Creativity Core Curriculum.

Together, we’re exploring the power of collective art-making to foster healing, connection, self-awareness, and expression in young people. This work was made possible by the Renée Fleming Neuroarts Investigator Award and the NeuroArts Blueprint Initiative.

Fred is flourishing at his new home at Jefferson Health alongside long-time Chief Compassion Officer Maggie, a LOV pup who has been with the hospital for the last six years. Little Bruce (who isn’t so little anymore!) joined these two pros for some training in busy Philadelphia — and kept up with the big dogs. As if there was ever any doubt. <3 🐕‍🦺

Jefferson Health and Thomas Jefferson University have researched and supported the use of service and therapy dogs to treat PTSD and TBI in military veterans, who report dramatic improvements in their quality of life.

We are thankful for this long-standing partnership that helps us continue to provide service dogs at no cost to veterans who need them.
