Had the very best time with our dear friend @janetbeginwasielewskiriley and her wonderful husband, Will! As best we can recall it’s been 40 years since we’ve seen each other in person! We closed down the restaurant (which we weren’t aware of until we left and saw we were the only customers left) after 3 1/2 hours of nonstop visiting and could’ve gone on for a couple more! It’s so awesome to reminisce with people you have a shared history with no matter how long it’s been! Love you guys!! ❤️❤️❤️

MIAMI VIBES: a fictional mini-series made entirely on my iPhone

As part of the president’s war on illicit drugs, entering our country from all sides, a special task force has been created to go undercover and penetrate the most corrupt of the political and economic underworld that controls this very lucrative enterprise.

Special agents, Sprocket and Stubbs, have been given carte blanche to fight the battle against the cartels pouring fentanyl and heroin into Miami and the Keys.

Two-thousand-dollar linen suits, gold watches, offshore racing boats, supercars and the most expensive living arrangements on the coast, are all just an elaborate cover. The two alpha males met while serving in Special Forces, and later raced cars together on the IMSA circuit, until they were recruited by the highest ranking members of the war department. Sprocket, who was living a nice retired lifestyle in the Ozarks, is a renaissance man… once a troubled teen with a criminal history, a compassionate judge and the military gave him a reason bigger than himself. He’s a musician and an author, entrepreneur and former bull rider. What is more, his father used to run offshore racing boats when he was a kid. Stubbs is a successful businessman from a crime ridden city in Tennessee. Self-made, educated, and well-traveled, a philanthropist who sees what drugs have done to his home city of Memphis and every major city that he’s been. Both are married family men who are entrepreneurs, but realize their cause is one that is far greater than financial gain. Sometimes, the most challenging part, is leading their double lives. Their past exploits, along with the latest training and technology make them prepared for the front lines in this war. Their journey, this adventure of high-stakes and killers, will form a bond that make them brothers who are unbreakable, and once again bind them together by a common cause… saving America.

These are the opening credits.

Welcome to Miami.

The only audiobook I know of where the author is the narrator and the singer on the soundtrack. Featuring the great Charlie White on guitars, Kenny Loggains on drums, and yours truly on vocals. Available exclusively from @audible

The year was 1978. Jumping, bunny hops, side kicks and wheelies were hallmarks of an ordinary day. Typically, wheelie records were based on how many “blocks” in the concrete streets you could wheelie without stopping, including turns and intersections, as pictured here on Melvyn Drive in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. A “block” was twenty-five feet long I think. My personal best was 201 blocks, which was a respectable distance.

This bicycle was a Schwinn Sting Competition frame, with long cranks, Redline offset tapered forks, and highly coveted Dale Enterprise mag rims. Materials were not as light as they are today, and the bike weighed around 30 pounds. The cost then was around $250, which was a lot. Today, it would probably be worth around $2,000.

This bike was originally candy apple red. It was stolen while I was visiting my dad in Driftwood Subdivision, Kenner, Louisiana. My best friend, Stephen Bohrer, who lived there, heard through the grapevine that a cop’s kid stole it and had all the parts hiding under his bed. My dad recovered the bike parts, repainted the frame metallic blue, and put it back together.

The Billboard number one song of 1978 was “Shadow Dancing” by Andy Gibb. The BeeGees and disco ruled the radio waves. My favorite song that year was “Dust in the Wind” by Kansas.

I was 12.

The most inspiring day I can remember yesterday at the Charlie Kirk memorial. From 3 hours of worship music to 5 hours of amazing remembrances and powerful testimonies from so many lives that he touched, including so many from top levels of our government. He was truly faithful, fearless and passionate about everything he did! It was such an honor to see it all in person, including seeing his beautiful wife Erika who delivered such a powerful tribute and showed the world what forgiveness looks like even in the worst of times 🙏❤️ #tpusa

This is a Proud Dad Post! Rex Fletcher, or “Rowdy” as we call him, is the second son, but stands in no man’s shadow. He sent me more than seven minutes of Hudl recruiting highlights from back in the day. I widdled it down to two minutes, but it was a challenge. He was so good and coachable, and played with a ferociousness that impressed coaches everywhere he played. You can follow his progression as a junior in this reel. As a father, my favorite games were the ones when #47 Rex was a junior and was playing with #9 Wyatt, his older brother and #23 Robby our adopted son. Wyatt was cornerback, outside linebacker. Rex was the middle linebacker. And Robby played corner on the other side of the field. The teams of 2014 and 2015 were spectacular in my opinion, as they were deep with talent and skill, and had played all the way back to Pee-wee football together. Rex was offered both football and academic scholarships. He chose to pursue his academics, graduating from Arkansas State University four years later with a finance degree, and today is a banker in Texas. He tackles business with the same ferocity with which he played football.
