Oftentimes when restaurants open they are romanticized as a product or piece and not a process. This week we celebrate our 1 year anniversary 🥹 and while we’re incredibly proud of the restaurant we’ve built on the corner of Virgil & Melrose together as a team, we look back with even more pride in the work we all put in to get here, and the peaks and valleys along the way.

Some more context about the 1st slide… this is a young Chef Dan @chaep_dan with his older brother in front of their childhood home, just a half mile south of the restaurant. Budonoki is a homecoming of sorts to Dan, who, after well over a decade of cooking at a high level in Los Angeles deserved this opportunity more than anyone we know 💪🏼 We 🧡 you Chef!

This restaurant means so many things to so many people and it means the world to have opened to such incredible support from the neighborhood. Thank you Virgil Village 🏡

Last but certainly not least, shout out to our team. We did the absolute craziest thing and opened a restaurant together 🤪 Forever grateful for the way each of you have put your touch and made your mark on the 🐻 cave.
