Another chapter of life officially coming to a close

Life has a cool way of putting things exactly where they belong. Somehow, the Layton High coin toss to commemorate the run and the 1000 miles documentary just so happened to be the same weekend. No planning, it just happened. And to get to close out this chapter of life like this.. it was pretty epic. I don’t know if I’ll ever truly come to terms with the fact that I accomplished this seemingly impossible feat of endurance, but I feel it every day. Not just because I still don’t have feeling in my toes but the way it reshaped my mind, my soul, the very fabric of my reality was altered in such an impactful way. The way I changed as a person you can see with your very eyes in the documentary. Who I was before, who I became during, and who I evolved into after. The @jockofuel captured it to perfection presenting my raw and real emotion, my why, and what those final moments crossing the finish line felt like to me. Then to get to go back to that very place this weekend and celebrate, life is amazing.

One final thank you to everyone who made this run possible and as special as it was. Thank you Sarah for taking care of our home, our dogs, supporting me through training, caring for me post run, and loving me through all of these insane endeavors I continue to take on. Thank you mom for building me into the man I am today, alone, as a single mom. Thank you to my crew for keeping me alive and getting me to the finish line. Thank you @jockofuel for supporting me from day 1, never doubting me, and creating a documentary that captured this run to perfection. Thank you @lhsadmins for dropping everything just 3 days before the run start to get me a track and believing in and trusting a stranger to accomplish this feat, and supporting me EVERY DAY, during the run. And thank you to all of you. YOU are what made this run special. YOU raised $50,000 for @thesingleparentproject . YOU ran with me, watched from afar, donated.. thank you🫶🏼

So, another chapter complete. Another turn of the page. Something I used to fear was closing another chapter but one day you’ll realize, you are the author. You get to decide what’s next.

June is Men’s Mental Health Month -

I asked a few men in the outdoor community to share their thoughts on nature, overall well-being, etc

Their responses were a reminder of how powerful the outdoors can be. Check out their answers and be sure to give them a follow!!

Which response resonated with you most?
