POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Let me break the ice for those of you who don’t know: Fly fishing isn’t that hard. There is nothing stopping anyone from walking into a fly shop, buying a rod, and hitting the river, and if you are like me, it will change your life.

At the root of fly fishing, we are imitating nature as much as possible to coax the natural behavior of trout. The farther from that you are, the less you are fly fishing.
Before I dig into the Boulder fly fishing scene I want to talk a little about fly fishing basics. There is so much information out there on the internet, and most of it is just there to sell you gear you don’t need. My first word of advice for anyone getting into the sport: more gear doesn’t equate to more fish, nor does expensive gear equate to bigger fish. To this day, I believe my brother has never bought a new piece of fly fishing equipment. Unlike so many outdoor sports, fly fishing is truly about being in nature, not showing off gear.

Six years ago, we opened up our doors at the peak of the pandemic, and we made social distancing and sidewalk dining our norm. After a couple of months, we made a hard transition to pizza out of our little French spot to keep us afloat until things went back to normal. During our pizza era, we were really embraced by the neighborhood, which made our transition back to a standard restaurant even easier. We slowly hired staff to create the dream team, and we sure did. We’ve definitely had our ups and downs, as expected, but long story short — we would be nothing without our staff over the years and our community constantly showing us love and support. Six years in the Denver food scene is no small thing. Let’s keep the ball rolling 🎉🍾🎉
