What if you’re capable of more than you think?

That’s something Jem @jem.imah has been exploring with our Community Yoga crew. Not pushing through. Not forcing yourself into shapes. Not comparing yourself to anyone else.
Just that quiet moment of discovering, “Oh... I can do this.”

And then maybe discovering you can rest too. 💛

Jem will be continuing to teach Community Yoga for Term 4, with more breathwork, movement patterns and opportunities to build your capacity.

The classes might challenge you sometimes. They might surprise you. And they might remind you that your practice doesn’t have to look a certain way to be worthwhile.

Come exactly as you are. Take the rest when you need it. See what happens when you give something a go.

Term 4 starts next Thursday, October 15.

📍 Mount Compass Hall
🗓️ Thursdays, 7:00-8:00pm

Bookings are open via the link in bio. 🙂

It’s kinda funny how a yoga class can begin. All the unknowns. You hire a room, hope a few people come along, and roll out your mat.

Then, almost without noticing, familiar faces start appearing each week. People remember each other’s names. They share a laugh before class. They ask how the kids are going. They celebrate wins, support each other through hard seasons, and for an hour each Thursday night, everyone gets to put life down for a little while.

Somewhere along the way, it stops being just a yoga class and it becomes a community.

When I first moved to Mount Compass, I never imagined this is what would grow from those early classes in the little church. Since then we’ve moved into the hall, welcomed so many new faces, and built something that feels really special.

Now it’s my turn for a new season. As I head off on maternity leave, my heart would happily keep teaching, but my body is gently reminding me it’s time to slow down. For someone who spends a lot of time encouraging others to listen to their bodies, I suppose it’s only fair that I listen to mine too.

The beautiful thing is that this community doesn’t stop because I’m stepping away for a while. It continues with the wonderful Jem @jem.imah from Yoga with Jem.

Many of you have already met Jem, and I know she’ll care for this space so well. She’s a thoughtful, calming teacher, and I couldn’t imagine a better person to guide Community Yoga while I’m away.

So if you’ve been part of this class, thank you. Thank you for your loyalty, your laughter, and for helping create something that has meant so much to me.

And if you’ve been thinking about coming along, I’d love for this community to keep growing while I’m away.

This isn’t goodbye. It’s simply one season making way for the next. I’ll see y’all again soon. 💛

A little Term 3 update 💛

As many of you know, I’ll be heading off on maternity leave, and while I’ll definitely miss practicing with y’all, I couldn’t feel better about who’s stepping in.

Meet Jem @jem.imah . Many of you have already practiced with her this term, and I’ve loved hearing your feedback (apparently we have similar teaching styles and matching North American accents haha).

Jem is a beautiful teacher with a calm, grounded presence and I know you’ll be in wonderful hands.

Also, my Thursday class is getting a little name change. Beginners Yoga will now become Community Yoga. Existing students, don’t let the new name throw you. The heart of the class remains exactly the same. Welcoming, accessible, and open to all levels. It simply feels like a better reflection of what the class has naturally grown into over time.

Watching this class become a little community has been such a gift. I’ll miss y’all while I’m away, but it makes me really happy knowing this space keeps going.

Term 3 starts Thursday, July 23.

Meet Jem — our wonderful new yoga teacher at Fleurieu Wellness! 🧘‍♀️

Jem brings over a decade of experience, heartfelt wisdom, and a beautiful down-to-earth approach to every class. Her journey began in Southern India in 2011. Since then, she's trained extensively across Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Breathwork, and more — creating a holistic practice that meets you exactly where you are.

Jem’s classes are nurturing, welcoming, and centred on helping you reconnect to yourself — body, mind, and spirit. Whether you're craving movement, stillness, or a bit of both, you'll find space to move at your own pace, listen inward, and build trust in your body.

You'll find Jem in the Fleurieu Wellness Yoga Studio on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays — and we can't wait for you to experience her calming, compassionate energy.

Come join us on the mat and share in this beautiful new chapter! 🌸✨
