Every brand has a first version. Sometimes it is a plain piece of clothing with a logo stitched on. A handful of sizes. An Instagram inbox. A parcel carried to the post office. It is easy to look back and see how small it was. It is more beautiful to see what it made possible. Because someone bought it. And that became the starting point. Then came the second product, the third, the spare room, the van, the warehouse, and a shop opening its doors. Overnight success, it turns out, is about five years of showing up. Day 2 at the Game Fair ☀️🐾 Another brilliant day at the Game Fair! Lots of fun, plenty of sunshine, and so lovely catching up with friends we haven’t seen for a while. Daisy coped amazingly well with the heat and loved being part of all the action (with plenty of water and shade, of course!). Something my wonderful riding instructor @beckyheappey_ said that actually stuck with me 🤍 When Havana stops, she’s not saying no …she’s saying that she’s not sure and if i panic and kick harder, i just make it worse 😅 She’s not being naughty … she just doesn’t understand the question i’m asking her yet. So instead of pushing, Becky taught me to always come back to the basics … balance, rhythm, position… hands low… stay straight… wait… give her the information… She doesn’t need me to push her she needs me to make it easy for her to say yes 💛 We’re both still learning and honestly? And that’s a wrap on the Royal Bath and West Show. 🇬🇧 What a few days. New faces, old faces and some brilliant conversations along the way. Great to finally meet Reg and Molly from @deadbadgerclothingco , catch up with @jemima.gray from @cotswoldfoxclothing , Marcus from @rogueskies_official and spend some time with Megs from @orama_luxury_home_fragrances , chatting through strategy and how to grow what she’s building. If there’s one thing that genuinely fills me up at these shows, it’s helping people see their own potential. Really rewarding. 🙏 On a more sombre note, we heard about @hexby_ HEXBY getting robbed at the show. Absolutely gutting. Unfortunately the reality is that there are people out there that will do that, and it’s a reminder to all of us trading at events to look out for one another. Overall though a brilliant show. If you’d told 23 year old Jemima that her little university project would turn into a real life, grown up business, that she would have her own employees, grow an international brand and exhibit at some of the world’s biggest equine/sporting events, she definitely wouldn’t believe you!! Here’s to (almost) 5 years of Cotswold Fox, the best decision I ever made and the most exciting job and life I’ll ever have💙
