Wait!…WHAT!?? I just did what!!

I am waking up this morning in absolute gratitude for what has happened on this UGC journey.

3 months ago I wasn’t doing anything with UGC yet, just starting to listen to some podcasts and follow people on social.

August 1 of this year, I decided to test it.

I created my first couple of UGC example videos and a pitch video for Billo.

Less than 2 weeks in…landed a PAID UGC job on Cohley…and THAT was all I needed to go all in.

September I started testing ALL THE PLATFORMS

Figures out what worked and what didn’t, and found a TON of things that didn’t work.

Last week I focused on 2 platforms that showed promise and BOOM 💥

Things fell into place!

I woke up this morning to a new $1k deal.

Brands are looking for creators now! There is no shortage of UGC work.

I am proof of what’s possible.

And I know so much is possible for you too 🙌

Back to school IS HAPPENING!

I don’t know about you but things feel extra crazy right now.

Between the end of summer travel and horse shows, and picking up class schedules

Time is short!

This week alone we have 2 school orientations to go to, errands to run, and packing to do for the weekend.

And my content HAS to feel light

I know from MANY year of creating content that keeping things running smoothly, no matter what is so important

And having the systems behind the social media is the ONE thing that gives peace of mind during these crazy seasons.

Am I showing up on social media every day…yes but I have a system for that

And that system can be adjusted depending on how busy life and my business is.

BUT, I also have other systems in place that DONT’T rely on social media

Those systems are my email systems.

The ONLY part of my marketing that generates new business for my business is email.

Social is great yes, to get discovered, but email is where most of the conversions happen.

And this week I am SO thankful for it!

I didn’t start this business to be a slave to social and content creation.

Even though I am a content creator 😉

I started this business for the freedom!

And I know you did too!

Drop me at 🙌 if this resonated

Imagine this 👉 you open your phone to check something on social media and…NOTHING

You can’t log in. Your account doesn’t exist.

Or you’ve been hacked.

Or there’s an outage on social media right as you’re planning a big campaign or are in the middle of one.

Cue the shock 😳 and nausea 🤢

‌Back to school season is bringing with it ALL the shopping for my kids.

And every year they’ve outgrown clothes, ESPECIALLY pants.

I’ve got two kids who shot up in height but not much else.

I gotta say, shopping for pants for a teen and preteen 🤦‍♀️ is hard!

I’m looking at all the options in the stores and online.

I’m reading reviews, saving what I find and then will purchase what I feel is going to work best.

Your patients are doing the SAME THING when they are looking for help with their problem.

If your marketing plan is mostly social media…you’re leaving money on the table and missing missing patients.

One post can absolutely bring in a new patient.

It happens.

99.9% of the time, they aren’t ready to commit to booking an appointment with you.

Social media is your “storefront”

Your patients are looking at their options BEFORE they make an appointment.

Most people who see your content aren’t booking from that one post.

They’re moving through layers.

Social media builds awareness. Your website builds trust

Email builds the relationship

And it closes the loop.

If you’re only investing in one layer, you’re leaving the other layers (and your appontments) to chance.
‌
Real growth happens when all three are working together

Not one carrying the whole weight.

Are you growing your email list along side your social media?

That’s the goal 🙌

Your practice grows, new patients find you and book appointments, and current patients keep coming back.

Your content does the heavy lifting to create that.

That’s what we’re all about

Drop me a 🙌 if that’s the goal you’re working towards too

Just show up. Just post. Be consistent…

This advice DOES have some truth to it.

BUT here’s the problem.

It’s isn’t the FULL picture.

I’ve been creating and generating leads and sales from my content for over 15 years.

From blogging, to email to social media.

And my advice, that you can LITERALLY take to the bank…

Posting without a plan is is JUST NOISE.

When I first started creating content on social media, I followed that advice.

I tried to keep up with what the latest gurus were doing.

At the end of the day, it went no where…and I burned out.

Your practice, patients and the day to day is BUSY!

The plan you had for social media bringing you new patients isn’t working like you thought

So you try posting more, or outsource it to someone one your team.

Still…no results.

It’s never about posting more.

Be consistent yes, BUT those posts will ONLY work when you have a plan.

People who find you on social media are likely NOT going to book an appointment right away.

Part of having that plan is having a “next simple step” for them to take.

For your content to work FOR your practice, it has to be part of a bigger plan.

Look at your last 5 posts.

How many of them are only asking people to book an appointment?

Or worse…not asking them anything at all 😬

Fridays off were rare and I almost never took them when I was working in healthcare.

They were a precious commodity and I used them sparingly with my PTO.

Which meant I missed a lot when my kids were little.

I missed their Fridays off school and school activities.

When I started my business over 6 years ago, I KNEW I wanted to make those Fridays count.

It started as a promise I made to myself

A promise I made to my kids.

That from here on out, EVERY Friday would be known as “Fun Friday”

In so many ways I was taking back the years of Fridays I missed.

And now every summer we make good on that promise.

I expected the fun with my kids.

Whether we went to the beach, a movie, to the waterpark, or to ride rollercoasters, it was fun.

But this past week’s “Fun Friday” was spent celebrating my oldest kiddo turning 16.

And through the laughs and moments of that day, I felt the full effect of all these fun days.

Because the reality is my kids are growing too fast and these days have given me so many memories that I know they’ll keep with them.

What started as a tradition of me rebelling against the years in my 9-5, has become something so much bigger for our family.

And it been through the freedom to create this life outside of my business that’s always been the biggest WHY behind the work I do.

And why I’m making a shift

Stay tuned

Big happenings behind the scenes 👀

If you’ve been following me for a while (maybe even back to the old school Pinterest marketing days), you KNOW I love creating results from content.

You KNOW that at my core I am a creator and love nothing more than to help my clients unlock the words that covert their followers to buyers.

Over the years I’ve served clients in it seems every industry.

Coaches, consultants, photographers, designers, bloggers, course creators, hospitality and even equine businesses.

One thing is true about the work that I do…

No matter who the client is, the core foundations of creating content and the skills I bring to the table are the same.

The words may look different, and the industries are different.

But at the end of the day, my signature process of taking your people from social to sold doesn’t change.

This entire business started because I burned out in my healthcare career.

And there’s going to be a shift back to these roots through my business.

This is where it started.

This is where I’m going with content creation.

More soon😊
