We begin our share of the published works in Cut Me Up Issue 17: Razzle Dazzle, curated by Craig Auge (@craigdeppenauge) with:

Jennifer Gatz (@jengatz)
Spiraling
2026
Recycled envelopes, handmade paper, tissue paper, vintage ephemera, thread, works from Cut Me Up Issue 16 by Antonio Ingenito, Louise de St. Jorre, and Emily Ortmann, watercolor paper, glue
12 x 9”

“The act of spiraling covers a wide range—from the serpentine darkness of depression to the whimsical swirling of a pinwheel. A circling spiral can be hypnotizing, terrifying, or fascinating. Are the spirals in your life worrisome or welcome?”

Jennifer Gatz is an analog collage artist, creative problem solver, and collector of interesting papers in Kalamazoo, MI.
