My very first Swimwear Fashion Show 💅and the official debut of my swimwear collection! 🩷💚💙🖤 What started as an idea finally came to life on the runway, and seeing these looks come together was everything. 🥹✨

FASHION WEEK… OR MODEL SHOWCASE? 🫖
Seattle Swim & Lingerie Fashion Week took fashion to the water with a runway show aboard a boat. Fun concept—but first: how exactly is it Fashion Week when it happens in one day? The calendar would like a word.
Semantics aside, the designers sometimes felt like an afterthought. Individual models received promotional graphics and spotlights, while the two designers were grouped into a shared post. A great runway model elevates a look, but shouldn’t Fashion Week be equally excited about the people creating the fashion? If the focus is really the models, that’s fine too—just call it what it is: a model showcase.
Then there was the runway. Covered in plastic. Very Dexter, but make it fashion. There were empty seats too—although several were occupied by purses and drinks. Nothing says front row quite like a handbag with a cocktail.
Perhaps the most unfortunate detail: at points, the designer name displayed on screen reportedly didn’t match the collection walking. Getting designer names wrong while their clothes are literally on the runway doesn’t help.
That said, there was fashion we genuinely enjoyed. La’mamas hand’s brought beautiful pieces, with the white look a favorite. Walace Style stepped outside his usual lane with swimwear that stayed unmistakably Walace—bold color, dramatic details and those signature wings. Jenna and Vanilla stood out too: commanding attention while still making you look at the clothes.
Then came Walace’s finale. Another fashion organizer—wearing his design—joined his designer bow and took his hand for the walk. Wearing the designer? We love the support. Joining his bow? We’re a little old-fashioned. Let the designer have his moment.
Maybe that sums it up. Models matter and deserve promotion and credit. But if we’re calling something Fashion Week, designers shouldn’t feel like the wardrobe department for everyone else’s event. They should be the reason we’re there. Because without the designers… there isn’t much fashion to have a week about. 🫖
