An incredible day. Thanks to @cranfordporchfest and @cranford.cc for putting together another amazing Porchfest. This was 10 years in the making, and the bands and hosts were top notch. @feldamundo captured the vibe of the day perfectly with his photos and we couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather.

Special shout out to @savinojrplumbingandheating, @glamiam_ and @joeycheeseburger for hosting, @flynnandfancy for her guest appearance, and the other bands @thedtsmusic, @brianstellaband, @ohrats_theband and @justdubsy.

See you next month @lionsroarbrew!

Burnside. Manor. Central. Craig.

We all hail from our own block in Cranford, but unite together for pop punk greatness each year at the Central Ave Block Party. One of our favorite ways to kick back, relax and spread the music of our childhood to the next generation.

The kids are gonna be alright.

Special shoutout to @ohrats_theband who closed out the night!

The rain couldn’t hold us down.

Thanks to all our fans who pivoted with us to @lionsroarbrew for an amazing night of Warped Tour classics. Special shout out to @maddiebowen for generously opening her doors and rescuing our evening out. Also, it was a treat to have @jennamflynn join us as she belted out a few songs.

Catch us next up in October at @cranfordporchfest - more details announced soon!

Thank you to the 14 leaders for taking care of all 65 middle and high school students throughout our winter camp retreat. Your willingness to step in wherever needed made a big difference and helped make the weekend what it was.
A special thank you to the leaders on the high school bus.
After a long wait to leave camp, travel didn’t really go as planned. The bus had no heat and it got cold enough for frost to form on the windows and spilled water to turn into ice. The leaders stayed focused on us students making sure everyone was fed, making sandwiches on the moving bus, and checking in throughout the ride to be sure everyone was ok.
The situation could’ve been much harder, but because of the leaders we were cared for the entire way home. So thank you for putting students first no matter the circumstances!!🫶🫶

I’ll never forget the evening this cover photo was taken.

I’d been battling through some things internally and holding on to some thoughts that were difficult and painful. Sitting at the dinner table with the friends pictured here, I felt a shift in my soul. I believe it was divine intervention.

“You are safe here, Misty. You can share with these women. They love you and are for you.”

Through tears I shared things that I swore I would never say out loud because I didn’t think I could trust anyone with the deep pain and shame.

The irony is, I wasn’t always this way. I’m an open book, by nature, vulnerable almost to a fault. But a familiar pattern began to emerge throughout my adolescence and adulthood. A pattern of feeling forgotten, neglected, misunderstood and chronically a third wheel. Many of those feelings are my own “isms” (IYKYK) of feeling special in my hurt.

But what I’ve come to realize through these three years of being almost completely off any type of group chat (with a few exceptions), is that we all suffer from some of these feelings at one point or another-

Feeling left out, ignored, misunderstood, “too much” this, “not enough” that. It’s the human condition. The very nature of a group chat, in my experience, often perpetuates and exploits those kinds of feelings. Not often intentionally…but because no group chat can recreate what quality friendship and earned trust over time, can.

Intimacy.

My phone doesn’t ping as much these days (as a content creator/social media manager I’m grateful for that because I would never get any work done 🤣 But when I do receive a voice note, a text or a phone call, I know it’s because someone wants to talk to me and genuinely cares about hearing how I’m doing and wants to share their hearts…with me. I don’t take that lightly. I honor it. I treasure it.

If you’re a group chat kind of person, this post isn’t meant to diminish that. In 2020 I started a group chat of 40+ women that ended in total heartbreak…for me. That was a painful time but I’m thankful for it. Because ultimately I learned I’m a one on one kind of gal. How about you?!
