Woohoo! We’re thrilled that @bucksharborfilm has been selected for the “Winners Circle” of this year’s @docnycfest! When we started submitting Bucks Harbor to festivals last year, we clicked send and hoped for the best. It’s been amazing to watch its path. This movie is about the most basic human questions: how we grow, what we learn and how we relate, belong and survive. And it’s about nature—and the wisdom it offers if we’re able to listen. Downeast, Maine—where Bucks Harbor is filmed— is simultaneously one place and everyplace. In the spirit of New England, humor and heartbreak travel together. If ever something was a group effort, it’s this documentary. Everyone who participated so generously in front of the camera and all who brought their artistry, intellect and heart in shaping it into something humane and coherent. I’m so proud to be part of this film and very grateful to share it.

Mom, we’re nominated for a Sports Emmy Award!

Thank you to The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (@theemmys.tv) for recognizing MESSI’S WORLD CUP: THE RISE OF A LEGEND in the “Outstanding Documentary Series - Serialized” category. Congrats to the four other nominated programs and to my colleagues at Smuggler Entertainment (@smugglersite), PEGSA, and Apple TV+ (@appletv) for an unforgettable ride - I wish there was a sequel!

Thanks to Richard, my parents, Isa & Brandon, my family and chosen family, and my closest friends who were part of this journey with me from beginning to end back in 2023.

A series I was lucky enough to work on, Messi’s World Cup: The Rise of a Legend was nominated for a Sports Emmy (Outstanding Documentary Series). It’s hard to believe it’s been 5 years since Covid first came to the US and we started shooting THE FIRST WAVE in NYC. In some ways, it feels like yesterday, and, in others, a lifetime ago. I think when the film came out, it was too raw for many to watch, but it was (and is) my hope that it’s a historical document that people can revisit. I’m posting words that I wrote years ago below, and I’m wondering: how have you all changed as a result of the pandemic? What have you learned?

I feel deeply honored that I had the opportunity to document — through a brave group of doctors, nurses, and patients over four terrifying months — the impact of this pandemic. It forced us to question everything, the fragility of our lives, and the way we live. #TheFirstWave explores every aspect of the human condition — fear and courage, death and birth, and the inescapable weight of trauma, both the kind that is deeply held and newly experienced. I hope this film will be a testament to the power of the human spirit when faced with one of the greatest threats the world has ever encountered.

I’m thrilled to share that “Messi’s World Cup” received a Producers Guild Awards (@producersguild) nomination for Outstanding Sports Program. Thank you to my fellow PGA members who supported this doc and to everyone who has watched it. Let’s take it to the finish line!

Cheers to our EPs, the entire crew and team at Smuggler (@smugglersite) and Apple (@appletv), and to the other four nominated programs.

It’s somewhat poetic that this nomination happened to be announced right as I’m celebrating a decade of being a PGA member; a nice full circle moment. We’re only getting started!
