POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Our very own Entrepreneurship Outreach Coordinator, Katrina Reimer, was featured on the @klrcfm More Than Small Talk podcast. Hosts @suzanne.eller, @holleygerth, and @jenniferwatson spoke with Katrina about Canopy’s work—and, more importantly, about the amazing people who walk through Canopy’s doors.

In this segment, Katrina reminds us that “refugee” is a status, and that people are not defined by the vulnerable circumstances they may find themselves in. Refugees and immigrants who have left their home countries are family members, friends, spouses, professionals, artists, teachers, business owners, world changers and so much more. Every new neighbor you meet has a story to tell.

We need to remember the value of every person Canopy serves. They bring so much to our Northwest Arkansas community. Thank you for reminding us of this, Katrina!

When everything around you feels uncertain—when headlines shift, relationships feel messy and complicated, or fear and anxiety hold you captive, reflect on this biblical truth:

“He will be the sure foundation for your times…” (Isaiah 33:6)

Stability isn’t found in calmer circumstances. It’s found in our constant and always present Savior.
Christ doesn’t promise a storm-free life, but He does promise Himself—a firm foundation beneath trembling feet, wisdom for confusing days, and strength for weary hearts.

If you’re feeling shaken, sink your roots deeper into Him. He is your security, your steady ground, your unshakable hope.

Anxiety pushes us to strive harder.
Depression whispers that we’ll never measure up.

One says, do more.
The other says, you are less. You’re not enough.

Together, these lies can trap us into people-pleasing—overextending, over-performing, and tying our worth to everyone else’s approval. They can lead to codependent behavior that only adds to our emotional hurt and the stress and anxiety we carry.

God is inviting you to rest in Him and who He says you are. Often, the first step is to uncover the lies fueling your anxiety, fear and unhelpful patterns and inviting Him to heal your soul and replace those lies with truth.

This is truth: You are already fully known, fully loved, and never alone in your pain and struggle. God is with you, sees and understands you, as is, at every moment, bringing you to increased spiritual and emotional freedom.

Healing begins when we stop letting pressure and pain define our identity and start letting God’s voice speak louder. We can ask for His help with this; He will teach us to recognize His voice.

This clip comes from a recent Faith Over Fear conversation about anxiety, depression, and the exhausting pull to prove ourselves. Listen to the full episode for practical, Scripture-anchored encouragement and hope.

Mondays used to cause stress and anxiety until I reframed them. Now I call them “No Call Mondays” and this particular day is my “Reset Monday.”

We’re trying to make weekends extremely family-focused so very little housework got done. But that’s okay.

I’m trying really hard to make that okay because when chores don’t get done on weekends, they bleed into the week. And I can get very precious about my time during the week.

So today, we reset.

* Tidy the foyer (our highest active zone for depositing things)

* Tidy the kitchen (especially after a busy weekend!)

* Prep for the work week:
⚡️contract review,
⚡️edits review,
⚡️submission lists,
⚡️marketing call with publisher for client,
⚡️client meeting,
⚡️agency meeting

* Set up Notion for tasks (lots of YouTube tutorials)

* Medical things

* Family budget

…I’m already tired just thinking about it!

What helps, though, is the coziness one can bring to the day.

I’m in comfy clothes, hair up, glasses on, with a now-empty coffee mug next to my planners, sitting in the living room with my standing/sitting desk in front of me, YouTube on the TV currently paused during a tutorial, and the sound of my son doing school & listening to music in the background.

If I work today correctly, the rest of the week will be smooth.

Here’s to you and your Monday, however you plan it, however you spend it!

📚📚📚
…and as a bonus, I opened a package of my client’s books today! My first copies of a client’s book ever! I LOVE IT and am so proud of her!

The book is What if You’re Doing Better Than you Think You Are?: Finding Courage and Confidence When Life Gets Messy by Jennifer Renee Watson, releasing from Whitaker House on Sept 9. Preorder today!

Synthetic hormones, often produced from petrochemicals and industrialized processes, have raised concerns regarding their impact on women’s health. Unlike natural hormones, these synthetic molecules are created in laboratories and can have significant side effects. One major issue is their ability to suppress ovulation, which can lead to long-term hormonal health problems.

Many synthetic hormonal treatments, including birth control and hormone replacement therapy (HRT), are designed to enhance the activity of estrogen and progesterone receptors in the body. However, this alteration can contribute to an increased risk of estrogen and progesterone receptor-positive breast cancers. Some healthcare professionals have even linked the use of synthetic birth control to a higher cancer risk.

Moreover, prolonged use of synthetic hormones can lead to a state akin to menopause, keeping women in a cycle of hormonal imbalance that may compromise their overall well-being. While contraceptives play a crucial role in family planning, it’s vital to recognize that there are alternative options available.

Bioidentical hormones, for example, mirror the structure of the hormones naturally produced by the body and offer a safer alternative without the dangerous side effects associated with synthetic options. These treatments can be life-changing and even life-saving, allowing women to reclaim their health.

It’s essential for women to understand the differences between synthetic and bioidentical hormones and explore all available options. If you’re interested in learning more or starting your journey toward hormonal balance, consider following me for more insights or visit the link in my bio for free hormone testing. Empower yourself with the knowledge to take control of your health!
