years ago, we came together with a purpose. 🖤

On September 15, 2020, we co-produced the first of three Beyond the Blackout events—created in response to the national Black Lives Matter movement and centered on diversity, equity, and inclusion within the DC events industry.

Six years later, we’re still proud of the conversations started, connections made, and incredible talent celebrated that day.

Grateful to have created this alongside our friends at La Joy Plans and the Events team at Anderson House. ✨

Thank you @washingtonianweddings for featuring our wedding and love story!

It truly was a joyful celebration built around what @mattsduncan and I love most: God, brunch, family, day parties and football.

We appreciate every single one of our vendors (all tagged) for bringing the vision of our day to life.

To Our Incredible Event Community—𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌 𝒀𝒐𝒖.

In this industry, trust is everything. And when someone from the event community—whether you’re a planner, designer, photographer, florist, DJ, venue manager, makeup artist, or beyond—refers a client to Sweet Elevations, you’re not just making a recommendation. You’re saying, “I believe in your work.”

That trust? It’s never taken lightly.

Recently, I reached out to one of our peers in the industry to personally say thank you for a referral. Their response?

| “𝐈 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐦.” |

That one sentence reminded me why we do what we do—and why how we show up matters just as much as what we create. At Sweet Elevations, it’s more than creating the desserts. It’s professionalism. Reliability. Intentional service. Thoughtful artistry. And a commitment to making your clients feel seen, heard, and celebrated.

To those of you who have spoken our name in rooms we weren’t in—𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊 𝐘𝐎𝐔. You’ve helped us grow in the most meaningful way.

And to those we haven’t worked with just yet—𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒏 𝒊𝒏𝒗𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏. We’d love the opportunity to serve your clients and show up as a partner you can depend on.

𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄 𝐓𝐎 𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐅: 𝘞𝘦’𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘮𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴—𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘻𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮. 𝘔𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥, 𝘐’𝘮 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵 𝘢 𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰, 𝘵𝘰𝘰.

Here’s to more sweet moments, meaningful connections, and beautiful collaborations ahead.
