All my high-cholesterol girlies and anyone who’s been fighting for a decent bowel movement… come closer. ꕤ

Fenugreek (methi) is one of my favourite winter allies — especially when the season is *dry*, the body is tight**, and your system feels a little **Vata/Kapha**: sluggish digestion, sticky ama, slow elimination, cravings, heaviness, fog.

This herb is warming and deeply supportive in winter because it helps bring moisture + movement back into the gut — without the harsh “detox” vibe.

If you’re feeling:

🍂constipated / incomplete elimination
🐌sluggish digestion + bloating
🪨heavy Kapha mornings
🌵dry Vata winter body
and you’re working on cholesterol support

…fenugreek is a beautiful place to start.

How I like it (simple):
1 tsp fenugreek seeds in hot water with clove(kapha) Ginger (Vata) or liquorice (pitta) then drink the water in the morning (and you can chew the seeds if it feels right). Start small. Your body will tell you.

⚠️ Little loving note: fenugreek can lower blood sugar and may not be right if you’re *pregnant*, on *blood thinners*, or taking *diabetes meds*—check in with your practitioner if that’s you.

🚨Asking for financial help for a friend. 🚨

It’s wild to say, but I don’t know if I would have gotten into studio photography if it hadn’t been for @jennydjames. I mean that whole heartedly.

Sometime in 2014 I discovered her work, went to Seattle; and asked if she could take portraits of @dawnlawr and I.

When we arrived at her home I saw a big paper backdrop and lights. I didn’t know these things existed or that you could take photos in the manner that she did. She explained to me how simple it was: you just needed a paper roll and a single light source and you were off to the races.

Jenny is going through a bunch right now and needs some help to cover legal expenses as she transitions into a new phase of life. If you can, check out her go fund me, give a few bucks, and share.

Thank you for all you do Jenny. I’ve said it before, but I really don’t know if I’d be where I am today without you.

My lucky May 13th day! Another trip around the sun, another chapter to embrace. Grateful for the love showered on my birthday, grateful that I’m still here …but can’t help feeling a twinge of melancholy as I reflect on the challenges of the past couple years. Yet, with each candle blown, I hold onto hope – hope for brighter days, for healing, for new beginnings. Here’s to turning the page, to finding joy and love in the small moments, and to believing that this year will be “Better Than the Last” (@countingcrows shout out) Thank you for being part of my journey. ❤️

I know you’re probably all wondering about the next sale! We have been talking a lot about it. I know we usually do a fall sale but I (Jaffrey) have so much going on right now, I’m feeling very overwhelmed with the thought of putting on the sale in Sept. It hurts to have to skip this one, and I hate to disappoint you all, but I know it will be best for me at this time. We plan to move forward with a big sale in the spring and will be accepting all seasons of clothing then. I’m so sorry to those of you who have asked earlier about when we would be accepting drop offs. I hope you can either find another place to consign some things in the meantime (such as @anchorchicconsignment) or hold on to your best items for the spring! If you have things to donate, we would recommend giving items to @simpleandjust in Ballard! They do amazing things for our community and would love to accept your donations. ❤️ Love you all and appreciate your continued support of our fun sale. Sorry again to have to postpone until Spring! We will miss you this fall. ❤️ Until we meet again, happy thrifting!
