THE CEREMONY🫶🏼👰🏻‍♀️👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨💖 | 8.8.26 When drafting the ceremony script, I knew I wanted to tell our story in a heartfelt way that epitomized all the love and giggles Danny and I have shared in the past 10 years. Reenacting Danny reciting the entire last page of the Great Gatsby to me at a bar with the help of Charlie, using the words of @taylorswift to paint the story of our love (and the heart hands!!!) with the help of Misha, and the wonderful stories told by our amazing officiant, Isaac, was truly perfection. So grateful to all three of them for rehearsing with us for hours to ensure every punch line was delivered perfectly and every old timey F. Scott Fitzgerald cadence landed. The theater kid in me said we’re running it until the routine is clean! I will never forget hearing the daps reverberate off the walls of the Old Post Office as I stood behind the curtain waiting to walk down the aisle🤣 In our open window on a summer day Carmen & Danny married era🫶🏼 Planner @jessica_birchdesignstudio @birchdesignstudio Decor @lifeinbloom @vince.phan16 Content Creator @aforevermore.co Dresser @robertnoiastyle Glam @glamatelierchicago Dress @bellebridalatelier @varca.studio Jewelry @swarovski Shoes @prada @christianlouboutin Tux @blvdier Nails @hafnailsroom Venue @post433events 📸 @laurenlucilecreative

GETTING READY💄🥯🦋🍾 | 8.8.26 Woke up SO early and excited!! My beautiful bridesmaids wore their monogrammed button downs while the groomsmen were presented their custom bow ties and played beer die🤣 Shout out to Etsy for helping me personalize so many elements of the wedding. We sourced the bow ties from a bunch of different shops and even custom made a couple. Thank you Mindy’s and Pop Up Bagels for keeping us fed! There are also so many reasons to thank @jessica_birchdesignstudio like truly she deserves her own post but a few weeks before the wedding we decided we wanted to bring in a second glam team so we could start the day as late as possible aka would it be possible to get 11 women glammed at the same time??? With short notice, Jess pulled it off, of course, because that’s what she does! Just another one of a billion reasons we loved and appreciated her SO much💕💄 Catering @mindysbakery @popupbagels Getting Ready PJ’s @piyama_co Button Downs & Bow Ties @etsy Charm Bracelets @baublebar Hair & Makeup @glamatelierchicago @bsansostiartistry Planner @jessica_birchdesignstudio @birchdesignstudio 📸 @laurenlucilecreative 📍 @thepeninsulachi

WEDDING TEA CEREMONY🧧❤️🇲🇾🌟 | 8.6.26 Kicked off the wedding weekend with a tea ceremony! It was such a special and meaningful blend of traditional Chinese and Malaysian wedding rituals and adapting it to our American ways. Having our family and our wedding party there to celebrate and eat delicious Malaysian food together was a perfect way to start our wedding weekend! I was soooo excited to wear my custom made silk wedding cheongsam hand embroidered with a phoenix, beaded, and sewn in Shanghai. We also asked our bridesmaids to join us in wearing traditional Chinese dresses which made me feel so proud of my culture and heritage Special thank you to Simone for hosting the tea ceremony and Sabrina and Jerry for serving the tea! And for my Aunt Taiku and Uncle Taiku Chong for traveling all the way from Malaysia for joining too💕
