If you know me, you know I’m not built for waiting. I’m built for naps, snacks, and a good night’s sleep. Patience was never in my river. But here we are, counting down to the day my very own children’s book swims out into the world for kids and cubs ages 2-8 (and their very tired grownups) to hold in their hands.

So here’s what we’re doing for the next 20 sleeps until book release day: I want to know what YOU’D do with 20 days left before something big. Tell me below 👇 — book launch, wedding, vacation, first day of school, doesn’t matter. I read every single one (between naps).

📌 Save this post so you don’t lose count with me.

🐾 Share it with the parent, teacher, or grandparent who’s always hunting for the next great read-aloud.

🔔 Turn on notifications! I will absolutely be back here every single sleep until release day.

What kind of waterproof material did the handy fisherman use when he decided to renovate and tile his bathroom? A tilefish, of course! 🛁🐟🏡

But even from the comfort of my favorite chair, I can’t resist a good home-renovation pun to make the grandcubs groan. 🧸💤

What did the old and lazy fisherman flex when he finally decided to visit the gym? His mussels, of course! 💪🦪😂

Now, anyone who knows me knows that an old and lazy bear prefers a cozy afternoon nap in a comfortable chair over heavy lifting any day of the week. But even when I’m taking it easy by the river, I can still appreciate a strong pun! The grandcubs rolled their eyes so hard they almost fell right off the boat, which means this joke is officially a masterpiece. 🧸🎣

What kind of sea creature did the fisherman have a real beef with? A cow-nosed ray! 🐮🌊🐠

Now, an old and lazy bear like me usually prefers a peaceful afternoon nap over picking a fight with any marine life, but even I couldn’t resist this classic dad joke! The grandcubs groaned so loud they woke up the riverbank, but that’s half the fun of learning about ocean creatures.

Hooray! It is fin-ally Shark Week! 🦈🎉

An old and lazy bear might prefer a cozy afternoon nap to swimming with the ocean’s biggest predators, but even I couldn’t miss out on all the excitement. The grandcubs are already wide-eyed and ready to dive into some serious ocean adventures!

Why did the fisherman look at the ocean and ask the shark why he looked so pale? Because he was a great white, of course! 🦈🌊

It’s Shark Week, and even an old and lazy bear who prefers a quiet afternoon nap to swimming with the predators has to give a nod to the ocean’s most famous heavyweight! But don’t worry, our underwater friends aren’t half as scary when you get to know them.
