Very pleased to be featured in @condenasttraveller, in a piece celebrating some of the artisans keeping hands-on heritage alive in London.

It was a pleasure welcoming @katiebaroncox and @jennyzarins into the studio and sharing a little of what happens here.

Thank you to @condenasttraveller for including me and MAZZOTTI BOOKS alongside such a wonderful group of makers.

It’s Carnival Weekend!
Allyson Williams has been busy
🪡🧵
Few more pics from our CRAFT story for @condenasttraveller
Story by @clarecoulson & @katiebaroncox
✨
We took these Photos on an impressively rainy May Day at the Yaa Centre in West London
I could swear the Sun was shining & drums started to beat when Allyson got her Costume on & started dancing
The Centre was quiet with just the two of us there
Rain hammering on the windows
Infectious Warmth & Energy beyond
✨
A most incredible Life Story which she shares in her Book ‘Tell me something I don’t know!’ - get a Copy
✨
Arrived in the UK 1969 from Trinidad
38 years dedicated to the NHS as a Nurse & Midwife
MBE for her contribution to the Carnival Arts
Oh & a Cover Girl at 79 years young
What a Woman
Utter inspiration & Joy
Go Allyson!

So honoured to be featured alongside so many talented artists and makers in the current issue of Condé Nast Traveller, they have spotlighted local craftsmanship in the September/October 2026 issues “The World Made Local” (you can also find US & Middle East Versions) ~ featuring a dedicated London craft feature titled “Capital Assets”. This incredible spread focuses on London’s craft scene, offering a glimpse into the extraordinary talent and dynamic organisations transforming the UK’s craft landscape.
.
Captured beautifully by @clarecoulson and @jennyzarins ~ apart from Globemakers, you find London’s historic trade guilds like @worshipfulcordwainers, modern makers, and organisations like the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust @qestcraft, @kingsfoundation, @kingsfoundation, and @heritagecrafts that have preserved artisanal skills since the 12th century.
.
The magazine has run a broader editorial focus on “craft-led travel,” examining everything from ancestral woodcarving in Bosnia and bingata textiles in Okinawa to traditional tattooing in the northern Philippines and cashmere production in Scotland. Editor-in-Chief Divia Thani notes that as digital automation and AI grow, travel increasingly offers a tangible antidote—giving people a chance to make rather than just consume.
.
We are very excited to soon be able to also share a beautiful video capturing our studio via @condenasttraveller @cntraveler ~

Can’t quite believe that there is a whole page in the latest issue of @condenasttraveller about me and my work. It is an absolute dream come true - thank you @katiebaroncox for the beautiful words and @jennyzarins for the gorgeous photos, taken just 4 weeks before I gave birth to my son. A very very special momento - thank you both for your kindness and making the whole experience a complete joy ♥️
