LOVED getting to celebrate the incredible @jenroscoe this weekend as she retires from WCIA…her newsroom desk was next to mine and she shared the anchor desk with Derick, so really we were all basically neighbors 🙃 Cheers to our makeup mirror chats, unintentionally matching outfits and Our Town memories, plus so much more 🤍🤍

This weekend, we went back to the place where it all began, Champaign, IL, to celebrate an icon. @jenroscoe profoundly influenced our careers early on in a way we’ve treasured and been able to build on ever since. Beyond that, she’s an extraordinary human — a great connector whom we’re grateful will always be in our corner.

We also reconnected with our old friends and coworkers who quickly reminded us that no matter how much time has passed, we’ll always have a home and a family here. ❤️

Happy retirement, Roscoe!

The last month, I’ve been so lucky to connect with 4 incredible women in Central Illinois for WCIA 3 News’ “Remarkable Women” franchise. These are women who saw a problem, and took action to fix it.

Last night was truly a career highlight to bring them all in the same room, along with about 100 others, to celebrate the accomplishments of women in the WCIA viewing area. Some walked in knowing no one, and said they left with friends and connections to better their community. My mouth hurt from smiling the entire night! 💖

After introducing our 4 amazing finalists, WCIA 3 crowned Kim White this year’s Remarkable Woman!!! After a childhood of human trafficking, she is sharing her story with others, saving lives and empowering others through her non-profit, Beauty From Ashes Healing. I thank her for trusting me in telling her story, and I’m honored to be the journalist behind it.

Last night left me feeling inspired, empowered and truly proud to work and live in a community like this one☺️💞

Great time raising money and watching my buddy @kevinlighty emcee the event for the first time. If you can give just a little bit it really helps! More info at @e.i.foodbank

SNOW much fun at work today❄️☃️

Toys for Tots is my FAVORITE day at @wcia3news every single year. Truly, nothing is better than witnessing the power of community, especially during the holiday season. Today we raised more than $30,000 and collected hundreds of toys for families this Christmas. I am so lucky to work with community-driven people and live in a town that knows the power of giving back🎄✨🎅🏼
