Our last hoorah at a Gym that has kicked my behind since 2012. Have met friends for life and excited for new beginnings in our new spot. I don’t know what nightmare our coach had when he came up with this workout 🏋️‍♀️ 😝💪 @eliteuperformance

Meet our Members.. 👋
Hi! My name is Jen McDonald from Miami. I began running in 2009 when I met my husband! I used to just hit the gym and never thought about running anything more than 2 miles! That is until I met my husband! He was the runner/triathlete! I thought I could totally keep up with him since I worked out so much....but boy was I wrong! Running is a whole other animal! So that’s where my love for running began! I wanted to get better and I wanted to get faster!

Running Style: Now I run 3 -4 days a week about 4-5 miles each time with a long run on the weekend, about 8-10 miles. I love to run around my neighborhood which takes me along the perimeter of UM with some underline paths. And on weekends, I hit the Key Biscayne bridge for some bridge repeats! My husband and I try to run together every chance we get but it’s a little hard these days with two little boys at home so we tag team our runs! Whenever we travel, you better believe we take our running gear as we love to see and meet new places by running!

Running tips: My best advice is to definitely mix in strength training, if all you do is run. This will help you become a better, faster, and stronger runner and a more well rounded athlete! This will definitely avoid any injuries as well. Also, stretching and mobility exercises go hand in hand with running.

Running Must Haves: My running gear consists of basically lululemon running apparel and my Garmin watch! That’s it! I’m very simple when I run, I don’t like to have anything else on me unless it’s a long run and I need my hand water bottle.

Besides Running: I am a Personal trainer and enjoy working with people to meet their fitness goals and I just love to workout and run! When I’m not training clients or working out, I’m taking the kids to school, soccer and other activities. On weekends you can find us at the beach 🏖
