So one week can be transformation. One week of just paint. Walks. And paint. I am incredibly grateful for my scholarship to @jentoughgallery and the fellow artists I shared this community with for seven days of Santa Fe hallucination. ❤️❤️❤️

I couldn’t leave Santa Fe without taking a punt at her no where else beauty. Thunderstorms, sun, and you never know what she’s gonna serve up. Furiously painting today as I have to pack up tonight and head out tomorrow A.M.

The Last Supper and Above the Town fractured and digested thru mine eye. I may continue to waltz this way with more in this series or I may just start making macaroni art. I’ve also included a shot of a lovely Ginko (I believe) tree whom has a wonderful set of eyes.

Two ladies, one colorful one not so. I have always been surrounded by strong women. I have always sought out strong women. Then I had the pleasure of raising strong young women. All of them. They can smile and carry the whole world and wake up and do it again. I believe Santa Fe is a woman. And man, is she strong. I took a long walk past some adobes and vistas. Picked up a couple of rocks. Marveled at the clouds. Noticed how effortlessly I strode. And eeked out a moment of how lucky I am to be in the now of my life. How lucky I am to have your eyeballs. How lucky we can all be when we open our eyes. Acrylic, sumi ink, charcoal, graphite and oil stick on paper.

My Lady in Repose — today I focused on this work on day whatever I am on at my residency @jentoughgallery in Santa Fe. I taped three large pieces of paper together and am quite happy with the composition it provided. It’s made with charcoal, graphite, oil stick and acrylic. It is largely inspired by the beauty of my @heatherjphillips and although I’m getting a lot of use of my time here I miss her smile, laugh, and pert backside.

Santa Fe has been glorious. I’m loving the people, the experience, and the fresh color coming into my work. Big art, even in a small house. It’s always been my thing. Maybe it’s yours too. #contemporaryart #contemporaryartwork #interiordesigners #lagunabeach #santafenewmexico

Bouncing between works and filling the walls. Treating this like a show and it’s an interesting way to go. Fake deadline self inflicted fervor. Let the environment inform the work as I work. Seeping in. Leaking through. The gallery is on the remote side which makes for great concentration and star gazing, however those working in the Uber delivery service are in no rush to deliver or get much of it right. F’ it, I’d be the same way if I lived out here. If you haven’t been you need to come. If you’ve been you know what I mean. Much more later. Spooky

These clouds are right outside my window. Nature is so good. I’m excited about these new big landscapes. They could be anywhere, but they begin here in Santa Fe, at my artist residency. This time has been such a blessing. So much gratitude to Jen Tough Gallery for hosting me. More to come. I can’t wait to bring these to Laguna Beach. #losangelesartscene #lagunabeach #contemporaryartwork #ArtForInteriors #santafe

I’m finishing Tantric, the second micro-collection taking shape at my Santa Fe residency. A new process, creating what I call a portal, a place you want to enter, quiet your mind, and find a little reprieve. Sacred Heart, now Tantric, with more pieces and another idea on the way. I can’t wait to bring this Santa Fe energy back to Laguna Beach. #LAArtCollectors #LagunaBeachArt #OrangeCountyInteriorDesign #LosAngelesInteriorDesign #ArtForInteriors
