This photo was taken five years ago during Top 20 - Future Hitmakers -course by Teosto, Suomen Musiikkikustantajat and Music Finland. For me getting into the group in the picture was a really big deal and the course taught me so much about music business and co-writing and gave me new songwriting friends.

In that pic I had no idea that one year later I would suffer from a severe burnout, after two years the whole world would shut down because of a virus and after five years I would be working the end of my second year as a fulltime classteacher (which I thought I might never do despite my masters degree in education). Music and the spark for it still lives very intensely in me and 2023 has made me take big leaps towards my goals in music!

Years have passed but that course still keeps on giving. Yesterday I met some of the other songwriters and mentors from different years which was again very inspiring. If you are a starting songwriter and you get the chance: apply to the course again and again until you get in, you won’t regret! 🤩
