What’s The Rag Tag 5k? Glad you asked.

We are all set to host a community 5k race on the track November 14th under the lights at Count Basie Track in Red Bank. Never raced on a track before? Well this is your chance. There’s nothing quite like the energy of a night race - the lights overhead, the crowd lining the rail, and the lap-by-lap push to the finish.
•
Low key is the best way. No fancy timing systems. No starting gun. Just you, the crew and 12.5 laps around the track.
•
And we didn’t forget about the kids either. A free and open kids’ 400m is on the schedule as well. Come on out with the fam and make a Saturday night out of it.

Chasing history. One stride at a time. 🖤⚡️

Now a junior, Leah Starkey @leahgene0819 returns as the lone veteran of The Outposters, and she’s picking up right where she left off. A Meet of Champs title last fall. Multiple time national champion on the track. And this season, she’s already set the state record for the 5k on the trails. The résumé speaks for itself, but the work behind it says even more.
•
Day in and day out, Leah shows up with calm intensity and a hunger that never fades. She stays humble, stays hungry, and treats every race like it matters, because to her, it does.
•
We are proud to tell Leah’s story. The best chapters are still ahead, and can’t wait to see what she writes next. 👑

Run The Night presented by @nikerunning was everything we could have imagined and more. From seasoned veterans to freshmen finding their stride, the evening was an incredible way to kick off the XC season.
•
Watching student-athletes show up, push each other and represent their schools reminded us exactly why we do this. This sport builds more than just fast times - it builds character, grit and friendships. We already can’t wait till next year.

Over 150 of you turned out earlier today to take part in Coach Bennett’s “This Is About Running. This Is Not About Running.” Book Tour - a morning that included a few miles, laughs, handshakes and hugs.
