SALT Conference this week has been less about new creative ideas and inspiration and more about being part of a community united by a shared desire to glorify God. Grateful to connect with old friends and make new ones.

It’s the last day of SALT 26. I’ll be thinking about this experience until SALT 27.

Thank you @salt_community for putting on such an amazing conference, full of great lessons, great innovations, and most of all great worship. Thank you @official__anthony.h @chadvegas @kpatrickclark and so many others for your time and for pouring your knowledge and expertise.

Thank you to my @ivybaptist for sending me here to learn. Now I’m ready to implement.

a lot can change in a year

this week marks 1 year of being back full time freelance and this past year has been one for the absolute books…truly. there’s so many people I want to thank for the opportunities, the trust, and invitation into spaces that I wouldn’t ever imagine being in… so if that’s you, thank you and I’m so sincerely grateful.

also I wish I could share 100+ photos cause there are just so many good moments from this past year that I want to add in here but this a quick look!

If you were to tell me last year that I’d be sleeping on a tour bus and get to be a camera op on the road, living one of my dreams, I’d point at you and laugh, but God has an amazing way of reminding us that we are not in charge, and that He is bigger than our minds can fathom.

I am so grateful to have had such an amazing summer with @caintheband and forever thankful for the kindness, love, and hospitality they showed me while on the road. They made my first touring experience feel like my 100th.

This summer was an absolute movie. I traveled more than I have in my whole life and met some incredible people along the way. I spent quality time with friends, saw some of my favorite artists, and even got to see Niagara Falls. My heart is so full & to quote the band - “I’m so blessed.” 🫶🏼

When I was at breakfast with @duhlahnuh this morning she asked me how it felt to be 38, and I told her that I feel more “sure of myself”. My “give a damn” has decreased significantly, and I feel like I’m truly walking in my purpose and doing what I’m supposed to do in life.

I’ve accomplished the short term goals I’ve set, and I’m living a life that I never imagined for myself:

- Nashville was never on my list of places to live, and I’m thriving here!
- I turned 37 and suddenly got over my fear of needles, getting 4 new piercings and 5 tattoos in a 6 month period.
- I didn’t know that doing community engagement and empowerment within the construction realm was even a possibility but I’m doing it.
- I’ve been in leadership in the Urban League for almost a decade, but I never thought I’d play an integral part in planning and hosting a national conference. But I did and it was a huge success!

And I did all of that while being recognized by Nashville Black 40 Under 40, the Nashville Business Journal and even accomplishing one of my professional goals and participating in the 2026 cohort of the Nashville Emerging Leaders.

The past 365 days have been incredibly busy, but so fulfilling. And I know I said it last year, but it bears repeating - I can’t wait to see what the next year has in store for me!

June reminded me that life is rarely one thing.

It held heartbreak.
It held grief.
It held laughter.
It held family.
It held incredible work.
It held sunsets, conversations, and people I love.

It was one of the hardest months I’ve walked through in a while, and somehow one of the most beautiful.

That’s life.

Here’s to July!!

My favorite part of the @klovefanawards is that it always feels like a family reunion where everyone is championing and encouraging the amazing things happening in this space. I’m proud to be a small part of a big thing God is doing and beyond honored that you all would vote for me. It truly has been an “immeasurably more” kind of year! I don’t take it lightly and am trying my best to steward it well and give all the glory to God, cause we all know we couldn’t do this apart from Him. Love you all 🤠
