Behind the scenes : How the #M3GAN gets MADE 💥

The costumes of #m3gan2 are a feat of engineering, hard work and dedication. The sum of ingenuity, and good ‘ol #8 wire, we achieved something really spectacular and I really hope you get out to the theater to see these costumes in action on the big screen! What a night!
Exactly .00001% of my job is glamorous, but here its captured at the premiere for @m3gan 2.0!

So incredible to celebrate this film (which we made in New Zealand) in my hometown of NYC 💗 absolutely loved reuniting with these talented and amazing friends & filmakers. Including the Ethel to my Lucy, the Ben to my Jeri, the loveliest and best @benjamintoner my Assistant costume designer on M3GAN.

Thank you @nicolasputvinski for creating this custom M3GAN dress.. he absolutely murdered it! (In the good fashion way)🪦

Cyberpunk #m3gan2

Tech Nostalgia drove this design as I explored a look with director @gerardjohnstone that was at once a vision of retrofuture and ridiculous technological candy dream. The costume was illuminated practically and a true first invention of its kind as we sewed, vacumolded, dyed, laser cut, bolted and wired it together 📏🪡

The result is a wild see through tech fantasy Mac3G, play it loud #gameboy meets #pierrecardin #robo #harajuku #cyberpunk fantasy

Behind the Scenes of Sandra’s Party photos taken with my @polaroid

A marvelous group of women centered around the brilliant @sashacalle dressed in looks inspired by home photographs and photojournalism documenting queer women in the late 1950’s. Research for this took me to the @stonewallarchive and to @nypubliclibrary113 . I found treasure in the early publications from #daughtersofbilitis #theladder and in #lgbt oral histories

Creating is my happy place

There is nothing better then the collaboration between artists to create something new and exciting, to tell stories, imagine and invent.
In times like these, I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude that I get to do this job and allow my imagination to escape into stories conjuring the characters that inhabit them.

The Costumes of Henry played by the captivating @diegocalva

•Diego and I found the the Allure of Henry in fine details, narrow vintage belts with western details to cinch high waist pants and rayon and silk shirts great drape. Small material indulgences in accessories like rings and bolo ties on the casino floor, the clean charm of a white athletic singlet & vitality and swagger in fine cowboy boots and turtleneck tshirt shared with his lover.
