And that’s a wrap on summer fieldwork for PhD year 1!!

This summer I set some really ambitious goals to hit the ground running with data collection in a system I hadn’t worked in and was very much put to the test 😅

Between heat advisories, days with 3-5ft vis, a tropical storm, jellyfish stings, and some brutal surf, Mother Nature threw pretty much everything and then some at us as I figured out this project.

But 30+ dives and 5 trips later, I’m coming out of summer 1 with a whole lot of insight for these next few years and a much better understanding of the beast that is the northern Gulf 😳 and some cool data! I’m excited to share more of it soon :)

Major shoutout to all those that came out to help me this summer! None of this would’ve been possible without you.
