The ride home matters.

After a game, a lot of kids don’t need a full breakdown of every mistake they made.

They don’t need to hear what they should’ve done better before they’ve even had time to breathe.

Sometimes they just need to hear:

“I loved watching you play.”

That one sentence can protect their joy, their confidence, and their relationship with the game.

A lot of kids don’t quit because they stop loving sports.

Sometimes they quit because the pressure around the sport becomes heavier than the game itself.

In Episode 1, we sit down with former NBA and NCAA D1 assistant coach Brett Gunning.

Brett candidly shares that talent matters… but coachability might matter more.

Because the higher you go in sports, the more you’re going to be corrected, challenged, pushed, and held accountable.

If every piece of feedback feels like criticism…
If every hard truth makes you shut down…
If you can’t be coached through adversity…

It’s going to be really hard to persevere.

Being coachable isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being willing to listen, adjust, respond, and keep growing.

That lesson goes way beyond the GAME.
