Another recent project I’m excited to share is the branding for @therevivalartstore , a new art space opened by my longtime friends @martahewson and @jerroldhewson I know Marta. I know her heart. But even when you know someone well, I think it’s important to take the time to understand exactly how they envision their dream. So I asked Marta to describe the feeling she wanted to capture. Her answer? David Bowie sitting in the Moulin Rouge listening to Bette Midler. And I absolutely loved that!!! Like hello, that’s where I wanna be! So I wanted to create a brand that brought different ideas, personalities, and creative worlds together. Multiple typefaces. Multiple characters. A little bit of contrast. Something that felt professional but never lost its artistic flair. I also knew that the space itself, and the artists who would fill it, would bring plenty of colour, character, and personality of their own. So I kept the wordmark black and white, allowing it to work across a variety of backgrounds while letting the art and the artists take centre stage. Because sometimes good branding isn’t about being the loudest thing in the room. It’s about creating a space where everyone else can shine. Congratulations, Marta and Jerrold, on bringing The Revival to life and creating a community around your very own third space. It’s the kind of place where people can connect, create, and belong, something we all desperately need more of right now.

We are still over the moon from an amazing kick off to @artcircuithamilton this past weekend! We are so proud of all the artists who participated and all the connections and community that was fostered through our space. That’s what art is all about! We love bringing people together, and we really loved seeing so many first timers too! Thank you to everyone who tagged, shared, commented and posted about our space and all the amazing art that our @martahewson thoughtfully curated. Even though the party has passed, all the galleries involved are showcasing these exhibitions until next Wednesday, October 14th, so make sure you get out and see all these fantastic creations in person while you can, and continue to support your local art scene! We tried to cram as many of your posts and videos that we could into one minute.. stick around until the end to see some very happy and proud small business owners! ❤️

Heading to church this morning with a very full and grateful heart. I came into this week knowing it was going to be extremely busy and, it turned out to to busier than I anticipated but SUPER BLESSED. Hit these Hamilton streets with @melaninxmarket to experience the beauty that is Hamilton Art! I got to connect with my buddy @jerroldhewson , who I haven’t seen in far too long. I was sooo happy to see the amazing work he and @martahewson have put into the fabulous space that is @therevivalartstore My very first time visiting since opening and I already can’t wait to go back! @artcircuithamilton was BUMPING! So much talent in this city. So much creativity. So much to be proud of as a Hamiltonian. And I finally met @seseokoro in the flesh! We’ve been talking for some time, but getting to meet him and experience his inspiring work in person was such a joy!! Had time to quickly pop on to see my peoples @goodnerdgallery The vibes were high! @rafaltomczuk on the beat, many people outside, drinks flowing, smiles widening!! I love to see it! Two galleries. Lots of art. Great people. And no better evidence that it’s a great day than when @erinmariedunham sticks her tongue out at you 😂 I am thankful. I am blessed. I am deeply grateful for the life I get to live and the people I get to experience it with. Oh, and I VOTED! 🗳️ So here’s your reminder to do the same! Make it a great day, friends. I have been working at @therevivalartstore for just over a year now, and I am Super Pumped that we will be first time hosts for @artcircuithamilton tonight! We have been hustling hard to put up all the exceptional art @martahewson accepted and curated for the space and it’s definitely going to be our biggest party yet! The event runs from 7-10pm, but we will likely stay open a bit later for all the party animals out there.. so come party with us! Plus, did you hear that we are Finally licensed?? There are party buses that you can buy tickets for to attend all four host galleries, or if you just wanted to come and hang with us exclusively tonight, entrance is by donation. Tell all your friends and hope to see a lot of your smiling faces tonight! 🎨🍷🎶

CALL TO ARTISTS!! 🎨 Art Circuit is coming up and we are looking for Your Art to be featured in our gallery! Our theme is Creatively Disruptive. We don’t want *perfect* art or traditionally “pretty”. Think unusual, eccentric, weird, non-conformist and bizarre!! This can be interpreted visually, thematically, through unconventional mediums or just have a radical message. PUSH THE ENVELOPE. BE BRAVE! We will be accepting submissions until August 16th at midnight. You can apply at artcircuit.ca/artist-submissions/ (link in bio) We would LOVE to see your work!

@therevivalartstore is the best! I love this store and you should check it out ASAP if you haven’t already! It’s on Cannon and Grosvenor. Quick story, I needed some big canvases for a tight deadline but they were back ordered @martahewson and @jerroldhewson reached out to @apollongotrick and they were super accommodating and built and sent the canvases I needed over super quick! I was super relieved and thankful to have Jerrold and Marta looking out for me. They go the extra mile to make sure their community is looked after! #artstore #art #artist
