Sometimes you see people that you haven’t seen in far too long and instantly remember why you love & care about them so much. Been far too long since we got some @jerseymetz & @metzy2880 hugs…but damn…it was so great to see you both & watch the girls compete tonight! We were only 1 batter away from seeing the ‘showdown’! 😂😂 Keep working hard Jers…so proud of you #28 (you know you’ll always be that to me 😉)! Love you guys!!!

One of the greatest gifts high school softball gives young women is the opportunity to compete for something bigger than themselves. Last week, I had the privilege of watching several of my BreakThrew pitchers compete at the Iowa High School State Championships. Some brought home a state championship trophy. Some fell just a game or two short. But every one of them was part of something special. They played for their teammates. For the coaches who believed in them. For the parents who sacrificed so much to help them chase this moment. For the little girls in the stands dreaming of one day wearing that uniform. For everyone who played before them. For their school. For an entire community hoping to bring a state championship home. Years from now, you'll remember the people. The pride. The excitement. The way your fans cheered for you. The feeling of standing shoulder to shoulder with your teammates, chasing a common goal. That's what makes State Tournament week so special...and that's what you'll carry with you long after it's over! 🏆💕
