That feeling when you spent ages setting up to try something new and it was so exciting until the reveal 🤦‍♀️

I tried the ripple technique for polymer clay, a type of mokume gane.

😢

It's still pretty, but not as pretty as when @jessama_tutorials did it (go watch to see how it is suposed to look).

I think I know what the issue was and will try again.

You only learn by trying.

Day 3 of Whatever No. of Days of Polymer Clay Veneers: i’ve already mixed up the actual correct day labels, & i’m only at the 48-72 hr mark.
😂🤣😂
so, to clear it up—
• day 1 is mokume gane w/bullseye canes, insp: @jessama_tutorials
• day 2 is the different direction cane slicing-the top is my regular “cut the short tops” & the bottom is the “cut the long sides”, as inspired by @hunter_and_co_designs (like i said, my effort looks NOTHING like her work, but i tried, & i still like it! 😂☺️)
• day 3A (?!) was a 1AM “i couldn’t f*ing sleep, wtf, so ima try to reverse engineer a mokume game pattern i saw, & fuck it, it didn’t work, but ima make SOMETHING bc i’m TIRED & CRANKY & 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬” effort
😆 😆😆💀

Safe to say this technique will become a staple! I am obsessed with the results!
Check my stories for another set, same technique but different vibes.

Thank you to Samantha of Jessama Tutorials for the inspiration.

This set will be available this weekend at USJ Holiday Mart in Jackson, Tennessee.

✨ Rainbow Obsidian, reimagined.
These pieces shimmer like oil on water – layered, iridescent, and full of quiet drama. 🌌 Each earring tells a story of movement and depth, wrapped in hypnotic lines and a glossy finish that catches the light just right.

Whether you love a bold stud moment or the elegant sway of a dangle – both styles are now part of my Rainbow Obsidian Collection 🖤🌈

Which one would you wear first?
🟤 Topper Stud
🟡 Gold Dangle

🌈 RAINBOW OBSIDIAN meets STATEMENT STUDS ✨

Okay but… can we talk about this color shift? 😮‍💨
This beauty is officially part of my upcoming collection – and yes, she’s a statement stud, loud and proud!

The technique? Inspired by the Rainbow Obsidian tutorial from @jessama_tutorials , a total must-try if you're into layered depth and dreamy shimmer. ✨

For that perfect bold-yet-balanced shape, I used one of my faves from @roclayco – honestly, her cutters just get me. 🖤

This piece feels like holding a galaxy in your hand – with each stripe catching the light just right.

🪐 Dropping soon in my shop – turn on those notifications if your lobes need some cosmic energy.

The Jessama Collection-
A faux emerald polymer clay stone named after Samantha’s @jessama_tutorials. She also taught at the Polymer Clay Earring Summit this year but I had seen some of her tutorials on YouTube prior to that and have always been impressed by her willingness to share so many techniques. I hope it’s not too late to sign up to her Patreon and learn more from her experience. She is one of those few people who makes following along tutorials enjoyable with such a sweet calming voice. Thank you @jessama_tutorials!

Also I should mention this has been one of those earrings I received compliments from strangers on. Seems like a favorite along with The Neusa. Should it also make a comeback? Comment below if you think so.
