Cherry Hill East boys soccer started strong against Eastern on Sept. 23, but after a scoreless first half, Eastern took control in the second half and defeated East 3-0.

The game started off as a stalemate. Eastern had chances early, but East goalie Alex Miller (’27) made multiple saves. East also had chances to score. Shawn Tishey (’27), Matt Weinstein (’28), Ashton Weiss (’29) and Mikah Wright (’29) all had opportunities, but Eastern’s goalie was able to stop them. Jesse Bierig was also a big part of East’s defense, stopping Eastern multiple times and helping East get the ball back. Near the end of the first half, Eastern had a free kick from about 20 yards away, but Miller made another save. The score remained 0-0 going into halftime.
