Konkrete Jungle. Wetlands. 1996 and after. Main room sets on the Wetlands stage, plus the TableTurns nights downstairs with talented, legendary DMC scratch DJs. Built by Doug Sugarcuts, DJ IXL, Glenn DJ Excess, with Craze sliding through on occasion, and me laying the foundation. I provided the tunes while they cut, scratched, and pulled turntablist tricks live over my sets. At times, 10 turntables deep with 5 mixers running. Pure turntable junglist experimentation. Wild. Unfiltered. Unconventional and, at the time, genuinely cutting edge. It became one of my residencies. Nearly two decades of my life, evolving as Konkrete Jungle moved through different Manhattan clubs. NYC jungle and drum & bass history from the foundation. Lived culture. Deep gratitude for my path and everyone who supported me. Big up to Mac, Odi, and Datcyde & all of the other KJ Resident fam🙏❤️‍🔥🎶 #KonkreteJungle #Wetlands #OriginalJunglist #TableTurns #DJEmpress

Dear All, I am delighted to announce that my feature-length documentary film, “ARUKU”, will have its world premiere screening at the Camera Japan Festival, taking place in Rotterdam and Amsterdam, Netherlands, from September 24 to October 5, 2025. It has been a long journey of re-editing and submitting to film festivals, but I am thrilled to finally share this work with the world. I am deeply grateful to @camerajapanfestival for selecting “ARUKU” from among so many wonderful films and filmmakers. I also extend my heartfelt gratitude to my subjects who waited patiently for this moment, and to everyone who has supported and encouraged me and this project over the years. I sincerely thank Hiroe Nagai, Shoji Takaoka, Junji Yamada, Li Kai, and Shoji Shirasaka for their appearances. The music for “ARUKU” features beautiful ambient tracks by my favorite musicians H.Takahashi @h.t.a.k.a.h.a.s.h.i @kankyo_records and Masahiro Takahashi @ttmasa Masahiro also composed “WALK” specifically for the film. And “ARUKU” was made possible with the help of wonderful collaborators.
