Five years of building Good Black Art taught us something. We started with a simple idea: a marketplace and cultural platform where emerging Black artists and the collectors who value, amplify, and preserve their stories could find each other. But the more artists we met, the more collectors we listened to, and the more work we watched find its way into people’s homes, the more we understood something. We weren’t just helping people discover art. We were helping people find the stories they wanted to live with. For Everyone, By Us got us here. It spoke to who we were building for, and who we were building with. What we’ve learned since is what happens after that: when the art leaves The Good Studio, enters a home, and becomes part of someone’s life. 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝗜𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆.

Toyko Pizza Pandemic vacation edition: Visited @suncafe_sunresortnio in Kagawa and ordered a margherita. The usually serve it with cherry tomatoes, but this being a purist account, of course I ordered mine without. The dough was excellently fermented and light, tomato sauce on point. The only criticism I have would be the mozzarella, which was too thick and too much. This didn’t bother the overall balance too much, the margherita was delicious nonetheless. My TPP sidekick, @jesselfreeman (who recommended this restaurant) sacrificed himself and ordered his Margherita with cherry tomatoes 😒… Give it a try if you visit Kagawa! Great, spacious location with outdoor seating!

After falling in love with literature, Jesse developed four artistic mediums: photography, filmmaking, ikebana and collage. Having lived in Japan for many years, Jesse has a unique outside perspective on socio-political topics that affect the Black community in America. He found that collaging provided a more direct form of expression to address these topics. - Jesse was recommends @sideboer 🖼️🔀🖼️ - #siegemag #tokyo

Pre-order open — Vol.11 releases August 2026, ships from mid-August. VoidTokyo Vol.11, under the theme “Perceiving the Void,” is a volume that captures present-day Tokyo from a variety of angles through the individual viewpoints of fourteen photographers. Photography is not simply an act of recording the city, but also of grasping for something that can only be found within it. Preserving that starting point, VoidTokyo continues to layer on even more diverse perspectives with this, its eleventh issue. Fourteen photographers view Tokyo from different generations, different sensibilities, and different distances; their perspectives intersect within a single volume, bringing the current state of the city to light. Even when looking at the same Tokyo, the scenery that appears differs from photographer to photographer. VoidTokyo Vol.11 is a provocative volume in which intersecting and at times overlapping perspectives manifest on its pages.
