The third and final Voice Collective of the year is done. I’m sitting with tired feet, a full heart, and so much gratitude. My sisters sharing their stories. Carrie’s honesty. The music. The hugs. People saying, “I didn’t know how badly I needed to be here.” And over 20 men in the room, showing up and listening. Carrie shared how something her child said helped her recognize the generational cycles she had carried forward. Instead of dismissing it, she listened. She took accountability. And that changed everything for her. Her words flowed so beautifully into Adam’s “Me Too Dads” talk, which sparked a conversation between my son Kamdyn and a male friend of mine afterward. When I told Adam what a good person he is, his response was something like, “What else would I be?” Adam, you could be a million other things. You choose to be vulnerable about your thoughts, feelings, and mistakes. That matters. He spoke about feeling that you’ve failed when you haven’t protected someone you love, and recognizing that you cannot control anyone but yourself. Here’s what I wish I’d said last night: We have a responsibility to protect one another. One of the most fundamental ways we do that is by being people others don’t need protection from. That is within our control. Parents, dads especially: give yourself grace for what you could not have known or prevented. Someone else’s choice to cause harm is their responsibility. And when you could have stepped in and didn’t, own it. Listen. Learn. Apologize. Change. Don’t hide in guilt and shame. The people you love need your presence and your willingness to do better. I also told the room: you don’t have to share your story before you’re ready. You get to hold it in whatever way feels safe. If you cannot speak right now, please know there are people speaking for you. The stories. The accountability. The tenderness. The conversations still unfolding. This is why I keep creating The Voice Collective. 🤍

“You’re doing the right thing.” ❤️ Sometimes a few words can hit you harder than you ever expected. In PART TWO of our conversation with intuitive medium Chauncey Ellis, things got incredibly personal when she began picking up on what she believed were messages from Frankie’s dad, Ray, who passed away nearly 10 years ago. When Chauncey said his dad was calling him “son,” Frankie immediately got emotional. That’s exactly what his dad used to call him. And then came the words that really hit home. “You’re doing the right thing. You’ve got a good heart. You’re doing this with your heart.” With everything Frankie has been navigating lately, especially caring for his 88-year-old ma, those words meant more than he could articulate. Whether you believe in mediumship or not, we think most of us can relate to wishing we could hear something reassuring from someone we love who’s no longer here.
