A girls trip in the books 🏖️ #beach #summer #girlstrip

We stayed close to the owners of @charliewatersthegolden and had the pleasure of meeting this amazing golden retriever! He is super smart and is doing BIG things with therapy and healing for children. Go follow him! He’s extremely special! 🦮

I got this shirt in 1993. Before the heavy metal obsession, mosh pits, and psychotic obsession with heavy music, the first concert I ever attended was Travis Tritt with Little Texas and Trisha Yearwood at The Pyramid in Memphis in ‘93.

A middle school classmate, Wayne Johnson, invited me. His sister carried us in her Pontiac Fiero. I had never gone anywhere. At that point in my life, in Memphis in a Fiero? We might as well have been driving around Dubai in a Lamborghini.

I only knew “Country Club” by Travis Tritt because I got the CD for Christmas and “God Blessed Texas” by Little Texas because of the girls in the video.

I don’t remember much of the concert, but I do remember being there, and for some reason, the shirt
I bought has been with me for the last 30 years.

Jessica Speck and I went to Travis Tritt in Tupelo Thursday night and while my tastes have obviously gotten way heavier and my crowds are oppositely feral, it was fun to go back to where it started.

That random invite from Wayne Johnson and his older sister with a Fiero wasn’t random at all. It was God‘s way of saying, “You have no idea the domino this is about to turn over and what’s going to mean in your life.”

Also, that shirt still fits, suckas.
