She lives here now 🎾🥹 In all seriousness it was so emotional watching @alex.eala, the 21-year-old Filipina star dethrone defending champ @iga.swiatek yesterday. She dedicated her win to all the little girls with “chubby cheeks and ruffled socks” with a dream 🥹 near me were Japanese and Cantonese speaking attendees who all cheered for her and it felt like such a moment for Asia as well. After profiling every young British actor, this was my final week as culture editor at Esquire. I’m staying on as contributing editor and writing for our culture section in the print magazine. The rest of the time, I’m freelance. I have loved my years at Esquire: writing cover stories, editing brilliant writers, relaunching the magazine alongside @teovandenbroeke.
