Just a few of the faces and places I got to love this summer!

FSY has been the best experience of my life. I left this summer a little scared, but trusting that it would all workout. I left training feeling like I had no idea what to do. But then I just started working. I focused on Jesus, and I focused on loving my youth like Him. And the magic happened.

FSY is the perfect program. Youth come here with totally different plans, backgrounds, lifestyles, goals, and beliefs. But they come together in Christ here. Focusing on Christ brings them together. Part of what makes this program what it is, is giving the youth experiences with Jesus. We aren’t preaching at them or sharing very much of what we believe. We just offer them Christ and make an environment where they can choose to learn Him. And they do.

I’ve had some complicated youth this summer. But I loved every single one of them so so deeply. I truly think I was blessed to see people a little bit how the Lord sees them this summer. Some of my youth were SO EXCITED to be at FSY, and others just couldn’t wait to go home. But then it happens. Wednesday comes, and they start to make friends. Then Thursday comes, and if you know anything about FSY, it’s practically impossible to come out of a Thursday and not have some kind of experience with Christ. Then Friday comes, and the youth who couldn’t wait to go home on Monday are crying because they never want to leave.

FSY works. And it works because we’re working for Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ changes people. Understanding how much God loves you, changes people. Seeing His children for who they really are, changes people.

This was the hardest summer of my life. 3 months of traveling, uncomfortable beds, no sleep, cafeteria food, and being with 20 teenagers who don’t always want to be with you. But it was so. worth it. The amount of change I had the privilege to witness this summer is worth more than anything.

It’s never too late. You are never too late for God’s mercy, His timing, or His love. You can’t be, because God’s love is infinite. It’s eternal. It’s undying, unfailing. God’s love for you is perfect, and He wants you to come home.

FSY has been such a miracle in my life! I'm so grateful that I've been able to spend this first part of the summer doing it. It's been so fun and so rewarding, but also so very hard at times! Getting 5 hours of sleep and not great food gets kind of old 🤣 I grew a lot over these last 4 weeks and I want to share a few things I learned or was reminded of :)

- We're children of a loving Father in Heaven who knows what we need and provides it according to His wisdom. Being back in St George is just what the doctor ordered for my life right now, to re-center on what matters most: the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
- Miracles are live and happening! The kids I got to serve, the staff I got to work alongside, and the old friends I got to connect with were all miracles in my life. I was able to be in St George during the same weekend that one of my friends that I taught during my mission gave her farewell talk!
- "Loving God more than anyone or anything else is the condition that brings true peace, comfort, confidence, and joy." - President Nelson. I definitely desire those things and realized that I need to make a few course corrections to claim those blessings!
- I'm naturally pretty anxious! And that's not all bad. It's served me well at different parts of life, but if let out of control it can totally wreck me.
- During hard times, turning outward will create relief.
- Just dance! At FSY there's lots of dances that can seem kind of cringe, but when you just hop into it and embrace it, you can have SUCH A FUN TIME! "If you can't get out of it, get into it!"

I'm sad FSY is over, but I'm also excited for the future!

I know that Heavenly Father loves us and He has a plan for us. I know Jesus Christ can heal ALL wounds and turn weakness to strength!
