Everybody Digs Bill Evans reviewed: the lost months of a jazz legend - by Stephen Troussé @uncut_magazine

"A dream cast: Bill Pullman as Evans' boozy, brooding Welsh dad, Laurie Metcalf as his determined, devoted Russian mom and Valene Kane simply sensational as Ellaine, his '60s soulmate. Best of all is Anders Danielsen Lie, who has some form playing recovering junkies after his sublime lead in Joachim Trier's 'Oslo, August 31st', as Evans himself."

The film was developed with support from the BFI, Ffilm Cymru Wales and the TIFF Filmmaker Lab, with production backed by Creative Wales and the Arts Council of Wales.

Newcomers Nerys Amber Stocks and Tom Moya lead the cast, alongside Michael Sheen, Aneurin Barnard, Iwan Rheon, Alice Lowe, Matthew Aubrey, Remy Beasley, Kimberley Nixon and Rhys Parry Jones.

Director: Simon Ryninks @simonryninks
Producer: Tibo Travers @sweetdohfilms
Producer: Katie Dolan @katiedolan0
Casting Directors: Olivia Brittain and Jessie Frost
Casting assistants: Anna Boffa, Codie Lu Scott and Alice Brittain

Logline:
When a 16-year-old astronomy enthusiast (Nerys Amber Stocks) spots a UFO over her sleepy Welsh seaside town, she ropes in her sceptical best mate (Tom Moya) and an unhinged ufologist (Aneurin Barnard) to uncover a truth she’s not yet ready to face. Full of comedic turns and heartfelt drama, OUT THERE is a feel-good film about belief, finding meaning and coming to terms with loss.
