Week 28 of The Trail Club! This week we had our adventure week over at Apex Mountain. No falls this week makes it a success in our book! With these dark mornings the sunrises are only getting prettier. Come get some miles in with the group while the season lasts! See you at north table mountain next week.

The best leaders I know don't just talk about building community. They live in it.

@samwanezek1 and I built @thetrailclub_ from the ground up with one focus. Create a safe and welcome space for everyone. Not just the experienced runners or the competitive athletes but everyone. What started as a small group of people who wanted to show up and move together has grown to over 850 members across Colorado. This past weekend 30 of them raced the @cirqueseries at Arapahoe Basin together and it was amazing to support them from the base of the mountain.

I think about this a lot in the context of @humn.denver

It would be easy to talk about community as a differentiator, put it in a pitch deck, and call it a strategy. But community is not a strategy. Community is a practice. It requires showing up consistently, creating an environment where people feel seen and welcomed, and doing that long before anyone is watching or paying attention. That's what Sam and I have been doing with The Trail Club for two years now and it is the same principle we are carrying into every decision we make at HUMN.

The members who walk through our doors in Spring 2027 will not be walking into something new. They will be walking into that same feeling we've been building since day one.
