As part of @grammys Music Advocacy Day, @jestoon and @andrewjoslynmusic hosted @repjayapal in conversation with her constituents — the musicians and creators in our WA-7 community. Kicking off with a gorgeous aoustic performance by hometown hero and friend to all @seracahoone, we advocated for robust protections including establishing a federal property right to protect artists and all individuals from having their voice, image, or likeness used by generative Al to create unauthorized deepfakes and clones; promoting accountability for AI companies exploiting music and copyrighted works without consent or compensation; and creating a pathway for independent artists and songwriters to collectively negotiate fair pay with large streaming platforms and AI developers. Thank you to Congresswoman Jayapal for always being a champion of music and the arts. Photos courtesy of the @grammys / Recording Academy® by @photobakery for Getty Images ©2026 #MusicAdvocate

Proud to help lead an important conversation with Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal alongside Jessica Toon, Executive Director of the Recording Academy’s Pacific Northwest Chapter. We discussed free speech, Macklemore, AI policy, and the importance of holding technology companies accountable as we navigate the future of music and human creativity. Grateful for the opportunity to bring the voices and concerns of working musicians and creators directly to Washington, D.C. Advocacy matters, and these conversations are essential to protecting the future of our creative community. #MusicAdvocate #RecordingAcademy #protecthumancreativity
