Lock in. Let’s GO!

Had the best weekend in Oceanside, CA (last weekend) for the #Ironman703Oceanside with my @bettysquad ☠️🦋🩷

First time doing the Ironman as part of a relay team with my @bettydesigns sisters Jill & Tina. @jetri30 did the 1.2 mile swim and @tinaweidenkeller did the 56 mile bike. I did the 13.1 half marathon run. Definitely thankful that I am able to run again since I took a few years off, dealing with low back issues.
I felt good out there and was just counting my blessings.

We had a blast all weekend long starting with the shake out Donut Run presented by TTL @that.triathlonlife and delicious local donuts from @osideparlor 😋

A few Bettys went for a ride along the coast in our new sick team gear & we all meet up for some fun team photos.

Race Day weather on Saturday had great conditions with warmer temps for the swim but full sun during the bike and the run. It was hot but I loved it!

Congratulations to my teammates who qualified for the #ironmanworldchampionship race in Nice, France this September!

October. Our first month in Greenville. Lots of bike and dog adventuring going on. 10/10 recommend not working for your favorite month of the year! 🍁🍂

Lately I’ve been making foot work part of my routine (and my clients). If the base isn’t stable, nothing above it performs well. 🙌🏻

Your feet drive every stride, squat, and pedal stroke. When they’re stiff or weak, everything up the chain… ankles, knees, hips, even your back… pays the price. That means lost power, less balance, and a higher injury risk.

A few times a week I spend just a couple of minutes doing these moves to keep my feet strong and mobile:

1️⃣ Finger glove + ankle roll – opens the toes and mobilizes the mid-foot
2️⃣ Big-toe raises – trains the main stabilizer of your arch
3️⃣ Little-toe raises – wakes up the lateral stabilizers (I’m definitely a work in progress here)
4️⃣ Side-to-side roll – teaches your foot to move through its full range
5️⃣ Toe stretch – lengthens the fascia and preps you for push-off

I often tell my clients it’s not sexy, but it is foundational! Two or three minutes is all it takes.

Try this routine and tell me how your feet feel afterward - and if you were able to lift up those big toes! 👇

Summer isn’t over yet!

Officially 1 more week left of Summer and I am holding on to every last bit of it ~ from paddle boarding with friends, beautiful Western North Carolina sunsets, things I see on my bike ride, all the little critters that love my butterfly bushes, and the pups are happy too.

All the pumpkins & Fall decor can come out anytime after next Sunday… please 😆
