BEST SPOKEN WORD POETRY ALBUM
XONE VOL. 1 — Malachi Rivers with The Charles Reese Experience

Baby, @thecharlesreeseexperience answered the HELL out of this question! During our conversation with GRAMMY-nominated poet @marcmarcel , he explained why you can’t take anything off Xone without changing the whole experience.

Every poem. Every voice. Every beat. Every moment belongs. Together, they tell a story of freedom, healing, and finding sanctuary — in the music and in ourselves.

We poured ourselves into this album, and Charles put WORDS to why it all matters!!

SPOKEN WORD POETRY INVITED HOUSE MUSIC TO THE PARTY!

BEST SPOKEN WORD POETRY ALBUM
Xone Vol. 1 — Malachi Rivers with The Charles Reese Experience

@thecharlesreeseexperience and I sat down with Grammy Nominated Poet @marcmarcel on his podcast to discuss the concept of Xone Vol.1

House music and its clubs gave so many of us a SANCTUARY. A safe place to dance, breathe, love, and be ourselves. For those who felt judged, ostracized, or unseen, stepping onto that dance floor meant finally feeling FREE.

“We were each other’s security, from society’s insecurity.”

I wanted to create an album that celebrated that freedom. The people, the music, the spaces that welcomed us, and the community we found in each other.

Xone Vol. 1 is my love letter to that feeling—spoken word poetry and house music coming together to honor the places where we could let go and belong.

Everybody deserves somewhere they can be FREE.

“Healing” featuring Carla Gibson

Let me talk my shit for a second: THIS ALBUM IS GOOD AS FUCK.

The poetry has something to SAY. The beats make you MOVE. The voices make you FEEL. Every artist brought their own brilliance, and you can HEAR it.

We made a sanctuary you can dance in. A place to sweat, heal, get free, and remember who the fuck you are.

I’m proud of this work. Press play and hear WHY.

What happens when POETRY invites HOUSE MUSIC to the party? We find our XONE.

This album was born from a love of words that move us and rhythms that carry us. From the page to the dance floor, it celebrates the spaces where we found each other, found freedom, and learned to love ourselves a little louder.

“Healing” is part of that journey—because sometimes healing looks like tears, sometimes it looks like dancing, and sometimes they happen at the same damn time.

Made with LOVE. Shared with GRATITUDE.

Listen. Feel. Find your XONE

For Your GRAMMY® Consideration:

Best Spoken Word Poetry Album — Xone Vol. 1 (Malachi Rivers & The Charles Reese Experience)

Best Dance/Electronic Recording — “Healing” (Malachi Rivers with The Charles Reese Experience feat. Carla Gibson)

When Malachi Rivers & The Charles Reese Experience built Xone Vol. 1, they engineered a sonic blueprint for personal liberation—fusing the timeless truth of the West African Griot into high-energy house music.

The heartbeat of this awakening is the track "Discovery." Here, the raw spoken word serves as both a mirror and a map, stripping away societal lies--inviting you to step across the threshold. Listen close, let the rhythm and revelation embrace, and champion this medicine for the soul.

Because it is in the Discovery that healing takes place.

IN THE ROOM WHERE HISTORY WAS WRITTEN ON THE ROAD TO THE GRAMMYS 2027!

When the lights dimmed at The Sun Rose in West Hollywood, the live presentation of Toxic Love laid bare the beautiful, painful complexities of love—Queen Sheba’s piercing words seamlessly met by the breathtaking, soulful depths of Chanté Moore.

But the true magic belonged to a single, historic moment: the history-making photo that followed.

We gathered to bear witness to The New Spoken Word Poetry Renaissance. Standing shoulder-to-shoulder were the forces behind 3 FYC Grammy Considerations for Best Spoken Word Album: Queen Sheba & Chanté Moore ( Toxic Love), Marc Marcel (Black Shaman Strikes Back), and Malachi Rivers & The Charles Reese Experience (Xone Vol 1). Albums are now streaming on all digital platforms.

Our voices are already woven deeply into one another's chapters:
Queen Sheba shines with history-telling stories on house music on the main track of Xone Vol 1.
Malachi Rivers & The Charles Reese Experience explode with activism on Iced Out from Marc Marcel’s Black Shaman Strikes Back.

No competition. Just pure, unyielding support. A collective of titans lifting each other up on #TheRoadToTheGrammys2027!
