Currently living a life I used to pray for🙏🏾 So honored to be able to screen and share our documentary When Black Women Go Missing in multiple cities! I can’t say thank you enough to @wabjdc, @girlvow and @sunyempire for sponsoring these events! Getting to screen our film in NYC and sit on a panel with two sisters of missing Black women that we featured was a very special moment and I’m proud to a small part of their journeys.

And to then share our project with other journalists in DC and talk about the process of making a film like this, I’m so humbled! Thank you to everyone involved in helping us to continue to promote this project! 💜💐

For the last 3 years, my colleagues and I have been working on a documentary about the crisis of missing and murdered Black women across the U.S. and I’m so excited to share that it will be available to stream tomorrow, March 29th on @tubi.

This feature film follows three women and their harrowing stories of looking for their missing sisters when law enforcement didn’t take their concerns seriously. We delve into Missing White Woman Syndrome and the underreported connection between missing Black girls and the sex trafficking industry. The film highlights the work of Black women around the country who are trying to combat this crisis and looks at the first state office dedicated to solving cases of missing and murdered Black women and girls in Minnesota.

I am so grateful to the families of Krystal Anderson, Shamari Brantley, and Brittany Clardy who trusted us with their stories. This is for them. And for all our missing Black girls. 💜

I am so excited to finally share that the project we’ve been working on for over 3 years — Vice News Presents: When Black Women Go Missing will air on @tubi TOMORROW March 29th!

So much care went into this hour and a half long documentary about the crisis of missing and murdered Black women around the U.S.

The film follows three women and their harrowing stories of looking for their missing sisters when law enforcement didn’t take their concerns seriously. We also delve into Missing White Women Syndrome and the underreported connection between missing Black girls and the sex trafficking industry. The film highlights the work of Black women around the country trying to combat this crisis and looks at the first state office of Missing and Murdered African American Women and girls.

This is my final project at VICE, which feels like a very fitting way to end my tenure there - elevating the voices of my community.

Thank you so much to the families for trusting us with their stories. This is for Krystal. This is for Shamari. This is for Brittany. 💜
