🎨 Celebrating 70 Years of Britwell Through Art

Our young volunteers came together to design and paint a mural that represents Britwell and marks the special milestone. We hope this mural reflects the amazing people and wonderful community. A colourful celebration of Britwell’s past, present and future — shaped by the ideas of 26 young volunteers 💙

Over three days in August, 24 young people helped bring the design to life. The finished mural then became the backdrop to Britwell’s 70th birthday celebration on 29 August, where hundreds of people came together despite the rain! ☔️🎉

One of our young volunteers, Inaya, 13, shared:
“I found it so very fulfilling to paint a mural near where I live as when painting it the whole community came together and I just felt a great sense of togetherness and harmony, as we were all working towards the same goal - reinstating the beauty of Britwell.”

As Julie Siddiqi MBE, @britwellhub and committee member for Britwell’s 70th celebrations, put it:
“What a fantastic start to our year of celebrating Britwell being 70. It was wonderful to get these young volunteers involved. I was so happy when I popped down to see them in action. Art and creativity is such a great way to bring communities together and this mural is now an important part of making sure the past is not forgotten, it links directly to our present and encourages us to look optimistically to the future”

A huge thank you to the Britwell 70th celebrations committee for inviting us to be part of this special project, and to @Jho_artwork and @mrsamjamz for mentoring the young people with such warmth, creativity and patience. ❤️

Thank you to Crown Paints for donating the paint, Britwell Parish Council for supporting the project costs, and @salthillvr for providing virtual reality equipment to help bring the mural to life.

And most importantly, thank you to all the young people who gave their time, ideas and enthusiasm. You showed once again just how much young people can contribute when they are given the opportunity to shape their community. 🙌

Happy 70th birthday, Britwell! 🎉

🐘👀 Every elephant has a story… but some of the best bits are in the details.

At our preview evening, we asked a few of our artists one simple question: “What’s one thing
people should look out for on your elephant?”

Now it’s your turn to head out on the trail and see if you can spot the hidden details, meaningful touches and little surprises they shared. ✨

Which one will you be looking out for first? 💚
