One year ago, you made us parents and changed our life forever. This has been the most beautiful, challenging, rewarding, and love filled year of our life. Watching you grow from my tiny newborn into the smart, happy, curious little girl you are today has been the greatest blessing we could have ever asked for. Your smile brightens our darkest days, your laugh is our favorite sound, and your cuddles are our safe place. Every milestone you’ve reached has made our heart overflow with pride. We blinked, and somehow an entire year has passed.

Our sweet girl, we pray that you always know how deeply you are loved. May God continue to protect you, guide your steps, and bless you with a life full of happiness, good health, kindness, and endless opportunities. We promise to always be your biggest supporter, your safe place, and the one cheering you on through every stage of life.

Thank you for giving our life a purpose we never knew we were missing. You are our greatest blessing, our answered prayer, and the best thing that has ever happened to us. No matter how much you grow, you’ll always be our little baby.

Welcoming our beautiful baby girl into the world has been the most precious blessing, but her arrival also carries a weight I will never forget. The joy of holding her for the first time is matched only by the gratitude I feel for simply being here to do so, because the truth is I almost didn’t make it due to complications during delivery. The journey to this moment was filled with both love and fear, light and darkness, and it’s a reminder of just how fragile and miraculous life can be. I will spend the rest of my days cherishing her, treasuring every breath, and honoring the fact that we are both still here together.

We welcomed Myana Monèt Hodges on August 7th @ 2:26pm weighting 7 pounds 3 ounces.

Our sweet baby girl , you are already loved so much 💕.

Great recruiting trip up to Gaffney S.C. for the Limestone v Mars Hill football game. Double bonus- got to see 4 former Clarke Central athletes play on both teams in addition to the possibility of getting more student athletes into college. Awesome day - good plays on both sides and best of all - got to see these kids (and check on academics - surprised?)

Great trip up to North Greenville for game vs Limestone University. Gotta support our kids not just in K-12; they need our support beyond public school. Too many kids go One and Done as they aren’t prepared for what college really is. Even worse in pandemic days. Although the game didn’t go as wanted, all 3 freshmen got significant plays. Great job Justin, Scotty, and Tyreon! This is just the first- the best is yet to come! Darin (at 6’4”; 215 lb DE) you’re time is next!

Finals Day at the State Track Meet in Carrollton! Great day for some great track! Sean Armour led things off with a State Championship in the 400m and Justin Hodges added another 5th place to the total. Lashanti Williams followed up with a 2nd state championship in the 100m! Tyreon Millsap followed up with a 5th in the 100m and Jairus Mack with a 7th in the 200m. Lashanti Williams almost made it a triple state championship in the 200 but placed 2nd by .02 sec! It came down to the 4x400m Relay - dropped our time to 3:19.75 but placed 2nd. Overall the Girls Team placed a respectable 7th and the Boys team placed 5th. Lashanti led all the female athletes with the 5A High Point Award. These kids represented well with 4 individual State Championships and have laid the groundwork for an outstanding track program in the future.

I haven’t missed a GHSA State Track Meet in nearly 30 years to support my kids. I’ve always encouraged them to set their goals high and reminded them that they can achieve any goal they commit to achieving. Today I saw a great young man (Justin Hodges) achieve a second goal he set for himself: the first - to go to college on scholarship (Limestone University on a Football / Track scholarship) and the second today - winning the 5A State Championship in the Long Jump! He committed himself at the beginning of the season to do this and I couldn’t be more proud. He’s in 3 running events tomorrow Regardless of the result, Justin Hodges is a champion in more ways than athletics.
