@kebunkebunbangsar is one of the community gardens in Malaysia that allow people to come together from all walks of life through a shared interest --- urban farming & gardening.

And how do community gardens benefit us?

1. Healthier lifestyle:
Did you know in Malaysia, fast food consumption in rural areas are higher than those who live in urban areas? Especially university students and working adults like us who seek convenience in our daily regimes. Helping out at community gardens can relieve stress by appreciating nature and experience the hardwork of a farmer, this can increase the sense of wellness and teaches us to be grateful by "slowing down".

2. Getting people active:
We're unconsciously on our phones too much. The minute that we woke up from our beds, we tend to reach our phones instead of getting a glass of warm water. This will result in procrastination and slowly we'll feel easily tired before the day even start. Participating in community garden activities improves our overall physical and mental health that builds the sense of belonging on a one-on-one basis with new friends. These connections reduces crime, while enhance social empowerment.

3. Reduces negative environment impacts:
By learning how to grow your own food with tips and tricks of having a healthy garden, you and your loved ones can improve the quality of life despite of global inflation by encouraging nutritious food habits. Regular obtaining fresh produce can increase fruit and vegetable intake as it helps to curb health issues too.

You can walk-in and help out by volunteering every Wednesday and Saturday between 9am to 12pm at your pace too🥰
This is the first step of my initiative of @hijauku.project
I urge everyone to come forward as a team and let us take responsibility of creating the little actions that matters🌍❤️
